Great design with a flaw
Blickfanger, 01.01.2013
The Pauly sounds very good, except that it can transport vibrations into the microphone stand if you use it the way it is intended (mounted to the mic stand). I have to mount it in a separate clamp away from my mic stand, to avoid any low frequency rumbling being injected into the signal by it.

Have I just bought a pop killer for 150, - EUR?
31.08.2014
Yes I have!
Was it worth? Definitely!
Am I buying? Definitely not!

Sure, in the first moment 150, - EUR "only" for a pop killer already a bit hurt, but at the latest after the first recording with the part you have forgotten. I personally use currently the Rode NT1-A and had so far only the standard Popkiller of Rode, which was in the package at that time. When my producers increasingly complained because of the pop sounds, I wanted to upgrade. Since I do not like half things, it has become directly the Pauly. When he was there he was mounted directly and tried. The result is amazing. Although absolutely nothing had changed at the premises, the recording technology, the interface, etc., and only another popkiller was used, the result was absolutely gigantic. The recording a hundred times clearer and freer from any noise or anything else. The pop sounds silence to quite normal sounds and the voice simply sounds absolutely unadulterated, just as promised. I really would never have thought that a pop killer really can make so much.

Also the processing I find good. The neck is beautifully firm and requires a lot of "strength" to be able to bend it at all. Accordingly, everything sits well and it is quite unlikely that until the next recording something has changed, the Pauly holds his position. The only thing that bothered me about the processing is the fact that the neck is quite short. It was quite a "plague" to bend the shield as I used it. But if you get the first time, then the length is also absolutely sufficient. You can not experiment with the fixation much, because you are basically "forced" to attach the pop killer between the tripod and the spider, but well - This is squatting at the highest level.

Conclusion:
Just a pop killer? A small, but fine purchase in this case. It is madness, which effects such a small, uninteresting particle can have on the quality of the recording. Anyone who has worked with the Pauly will never want to go back to a standard pop killer.
