Nn its warm with banter!
Having recently acquired a Baritone saxophone model "The Martin", a vintage sax of the 50's, I was looking for the ideal beak. I like matt sounds and I rather play in the aesthetic hard-bop. Be aware that I already play a beak Otto link ebonite opening 7 to the viola. I'm not a fan of big openings but to have a warm sound and not too nasal, I had opted for an Otto link ebonite opening 8 to the soprano. At the tenor I play an Otto link ebonite opening 6. Concerning the baritone and fearing to mourn me, I had ordered on the site an Otto link ebonite opening 6. After a few days of intensive tests, I realized that the beak, too closed, missed the shot Of expressivity and did not follow when we pressed a little pressure to get the grain out.
So I ordered this Otto link ebonite opening 7 and I find it quite to my taste: easy to emission, expressive and flexible. It makes it easy to get a warm sound with banter. With the Vandoren classic No. 3 reeds, the bass is easy and the treble holds well. I even tried it to several of my students who all found it easy to play.
If you just bought a baritone, I highly recommend it!
