Very reliable note recognition!

Martin254, 04.11.2016
What can I say, I need a simple as well as musical recognition as a music teacher in a musical class. I knew a stripped-down version of the program and realized that the time I'll save by the full version will save me the money I spent.

Ergonomics and outstanding results

21.01.2017
After using the trial version of PhotoScore, I decided to buy it.
It's a great product, I do not have the opportunity to use NotateMe. I do not use Sybelius, I do not have the means, but another less known music publishing software.
Some time ago, I tried a competitor product of Photoscore, I gave up on the results.
Highlights of PhotoScore:
-The notes are clearly identified: duration and height. There are very few errors and the control of the contents of each measurement makes it possible to locate the majority of time errors.
-The two / three-part display allows you to replay with the permanent part of the original under the eyes. Finished the chore of double reading by alternation:
Content of the screen to compare to the paper or another window that is necessarily masked. The movement in the window of the original is coupled to that of the result window.
Well seen by the designers and very comfortable and efficient as use.
- Text recognition. Should I put it in the strong points? Yes, no doubt, because it avoids to take up the whole of the text by hand.
The result is still not equal to the recognition of the music, but the replay system makes the corrections even easier.
Disappointed with a first result, I discovered a parameter of the language of the text. This parameter must be changed for each partition, it must be found each time and the partition is monolingual.
The result is a little better, it seems.

In mixed points, I add the recognition of alterations, for example a sharp is often taken for a note.
As you know, special attention must be paid to alterations during re-reading.

The weak points: The ergonomics of this software is not simple, I do not criticize, it seems inevitable in the complex context of a singing score.
So I expected an effective help, big disappointment.
No tutorial in French or even subtitled or readable without knowing the oral text.
For me who is null in foreign languages ??it is a tutorial in Spanish that convinced me to continue the tests, cutting the sound!
There is a written aid in French, it is a catastrophe.
No help with the grip, we start directly in the scan of the pages and their organization which is really not simple.
The translation of the help in French is below all: a mixture of untranslated or wrongly translated words, incomprehensible phrases.
When I saw in the help menus in French, I thought I would have that in the full version. Well, no!
The help seems written so that the operator learns it by heart before doing anything.
So I took my dictionary and did a good part of the translation by adding screenshots as and when.
There are, however, a number of mysterious points.
Example: you open a PDF, a dialog box prompts you for the PDF definition: Low, Medium, High.
I did not find anything in the help that guides on the right choice.
Also not found a forum where I can ask questions in French, even if the answers are in another language.

The very first test was therefore exciting. The suite a little less.
When it was necessary to go down in detail to correct, it was already much less positive.
And the import of XML into my music editing software has also brought its share of problems: indications that I had put a lot of care to correct, have not been resumed.
Who is at fault? We should dive into the XML to know. And not possible to know with the trial version that does not allow export.
All the accented letters must be repeated.
For example, an "é" is transcribed: "é"

Once the disappointment has passed, we weigh the "for" and the "against", the "for" prevails widely.
So I invested.
Upon arrival, I wonder if the "Lite" version would not be enough, but it does not exist in trial version.
