Play that funky music white boy !!!
bpiskin 19.03.2020
This pedal sounds great ! Very versatile, you can get anything from deep synth bass, to 70s hip funky tones as well as techno/dance stuff. Dry and FX knobs provide a large variety while sensitivity knob can you the effect response exactly when you wanna play it. Build quality is also good.

The only design drawback of this product is that Input jack connector and power supply input are placed too close. And if you prefer using your pedal with a battery, you will need to carry a screwdriver with you to change it.

Keep up the funk !

C
blend it in on your sound
Cicco 18.10.2018
I run the MXR M82 on my Bass pedal board, i need a clean true by pass all over the path as I mainly play clean sound ..but sometimes for solos and runs or songs bridges I add some funny colours...
I always like to have my clean bass sound on the bottom of any effect so I don`t loose any frequency and the blend function on it let me deal happily with that...

This envelop filter is very cool by itself and the knob gives plenty nice sound features.. it respond nicely on how heavy or light I plug strings which give me full control on the effect response.... in combination with other pedals you can really create very crazy bass sounds with it

Sturdy Envelope Filter Pedal
Kyuuga 25.07.2018
Another amazing pedal by MXR. This one has all the qualities you need from an Envelope filter - the best feature is without a doubt the "Dry" and "FX" options that allow you to blend your clean and distorted signal in a multitude of ways in order to keep your low-end while adding that funky wah.

The other 3 knobs also give you myriads of options to shape your tone ranging all the way from a subtle wah effect to an all-out 70s Funky tone reminiscent of Bootsy Collins and other great artists.

It's built like a truck, the knobs are all very responsive and easy to turn and the size is perfect - not too big, not too small. Fits perfectly into your pedalboard.

What a funky
Bassguitar&Piano 16.12.2021
It's a very nice autowah pedal. The dry and wet knobs allow you to mix the wah sound with the dry signal, allowing you to have your wah tone but still cutting through the mix with your dry signal.

The sweep can be tailored to be tame enough not to blow your speakers out or to be a quacking duck on steroids. And even then you can add some dry signal in any amount you desire, thus creating, in my opinion, a more interesting sound than envelope filter would provide alone.

Bootsy Baby
Techno Witch 16.07.2019
A permanent item on my bass guitar pedal board. It gives that Bootsy sound (the envelope filter part that is). It also sounds very good on milder settings. I love the sepperate knobs for Dry and Fx. Enough tweakabillity to get the sound you like. Fun to play around with.

What a funky unit.
funkysoulmate 01.02.2021
This device is obviously designed for bass, but can easily be used for guitar if you want an auto wah-wah. But I use it with a microphone on sax. The first unit I received was faulty. There was a gigantic volume drop when the effect was switched on. Switching effect also caused a very loud cracking noise. So I sent it back. Thomann did not find any fault but did refund me. I reordered a new one and that unit works flawlessly. No cracking noise and no volume drop. In fact some slight boost. And the wah-wah effect is now very strong. I never sounded this funky on sax ever. You do need a good preamp when using a mic.

Perfect but one thing...
Mowoo 03.10.2022
You need the sensitivity at least at 3 o'clock to actually get some twang so it's kind of a useless knob I don't move it at all. Other than that most fun with a pedal ever.

Very versatile and with live performances in mind!
Anonymous 04.08.2015
If you are looking for a very flexible envelope filter that will let you retain your low end and overall sound power when performing live - this is pedal is a great option. The sweep can be tailored to be tame enough not to blow your speakers out or to be a quacking duck on steroids. And even then you can add some dry signal in any amount you desire, thus creating, in my opinion, a more interesting sound than envelope filter would provide alone.

The downside would be the flimsy knobs that feel cheap, and the slightly illogical placement of the 9V socket (right under the input jack), which interferes with the use of angled jacks.

top build!
Kance 08.02.2023
works great with my Fender American Ultra. I combined it with a fuzz just before it and compressed signal, it does the "Waoooom" just as expected.

access to the 9v is less practical than Boss's but I don't use it. It's compact and can be fine tuned easily. It is up to its reputation.
