Great strap for bass

I was looking for a wide leather strap for my bass and was expecting to pay a small fortune. I came across this one which was surprisingly affordable. Coupled with a set of strap locks (better safe than sorry) this is now my go to bass strap. It?s very comfortable - the width distributes the weight nicely, and the leather is nice and soft - and it looks great. The only slight imperfection is that you need to occasionally re-seat the cogs.

Great strap, but bulky looking

The quality of the strap is amazing, it's very well made from fine leather. Visually it looks great, except that it is much too wide for my taste. I know the width is specified, but I definitely did not imagine it being this bulky. It may work better for a bass guitar, or perhaps on very tall musicians.

Der Gurt ist optisch äußerst ansprechend, ist allerdings etwas dunkler als auf den Produktfotos, was der Optik aber nicht schadet. Die Verarbeitung ist gut, die verarbeiteten Materialien wirken wertig und die eingenähte Polsterung ist sicherlich geeignet, den Tragekomfort zu erhöhen.
Allerdings gibt es zwei Gründe, warum ich den Gurt wieder zurückgeschickt habe:
Der erste Grund ist: das Ding ist breiter als der Ärmelkanal. Hier wäre weniger mehr gewesen; derart breite Gurte können am Hals fürchterlich scheuern, wenn man den benötigten Körperbau nicht hat. Ein zierliches Fräulein, das die Akustikgitarre damit optisch aufpeppen möchte, wird sich von so einem Brett wahrscheinlich erschlagen fühlen.
Der zweite Grund ist, dass ich mittlerweile keine Gurte mehr kaufe, die keine aufgerauhte Innenseite haben. Das hat den Grund, dass ich mehrere kopflastige Gitarren besitze. Das Leder auf der Innenseite des Minotaur ist glatt und wirkt wenig rutschbremsend, somit ist der Gurt eher für ausbalancierte Instrumente mit naturbelassenem Holzfinish geeignet.
Deshalb: Hochwertig, sieht gut aus, aber leider nichts für mich.

Look d'enfer !

Cette sangle est magnifique, le cuir est très costaud et plutôt confortable. Par contre, si vous êtes un peu foufou sur scène, cette sangle à tendance à stabiliser la position guitare et ne permet pas de mouvements amples. Je ne suis pas foufou, donc pour moi c'est parfait !
