P
Practical Egg Maracas
PolarBear 17.07.2015
I am not a big fan of egg shakers in general, because usually I don't like their sound..it can be very pitchy and brisk. Nevertheles I like egg maracas more beacuse they are easy to handle I do not know why, maybe it's because of the handle that I found them more stabile in my hand...in my opinion they have a better sound than an ordinary egg has (I practically never use them as maracas, really holding the hanlde, it is because when I cover the most of the egg with my hand they achieve a better sound, so they get more dims). For a begginer that is in the process of learning different kinds od rhythm, maracas are perfect.

A good toy for developing rhythm.

A good toy for developing rhythm. It is clear that the sound and quality of plastic do not offer anything else. We use our homes for family concerts. Use a year, the quality has not deteriorated, not broken. Children like it.

C
Not a particularly big fan of the sound
Christian748 25.05.2014
I must admit that I am not a particularly big fan of the sound and form of these Egg Maracas. Maybe it's the plastic or maybe it's the contents, who knows?

My two biggest gripes are the pitch (which for most uses is too high and harsh) and the design of the handle. I say handle design because I end up finding it close to impossible to get the same amount of finesse and swing on a set of these as I would a normal egg shaker.

For this reason I have donated these to my daugther and continued to use the Meinl Egg Shaker Set I purchased parallel to these.
