good trem/vibe but minor flaws

23.07.2016
The look and build quality are very good, easy to use, solid smooth controls. Bought mine for the trem, which it does very well, and the vibe is fun. This pedal affects the high end quite a bit, but with mid gain pedals (BD2, Mayflower, Looking Glass, Hot Tubes) all sound great.

I play proggy metal, with higher gain trem can almost sweep your tone not sure it works, but with the pedals listed, my Tele sings (i run bridge pick up , tone slightly rolled off, with passive mid boost) This treble is brightened when on I like the sound but some may not.

The limitations stated is why i only gave the features 5 stars and the rest gets 4 star , I know pretty much nothing about vibes, but have had fun playing with vibe mode.

Summary : Great value good sound range, but it does affect tone a little more than some may like, still yet to find a better trem than the old Nobels I used to have but this is not far off, and built better, and is in a different league than my plastic behringher trem pedal which sucks volume, The VT1, good buy for a player who dabbles with trem, but if you use it a lot try before you buy, or look at spending more, bang for the buck is top class though

Marshall Vibratrem - good sound, lots of features, great value

Bogdan T., 26.12.2013
The unit is very solid and will do everything you expect from a tremolo system (adjustable speed and intensity / depth) and a little more: it can be switched between vibrato and tremolo modes (that changes a bit the way the sound floats) and it has a Shape function which is great - you can go from smooth vibrations all the way to "square" waves (bit like the Surf sound). This allows for a huge range of tremolo sounds, compared to other units where you can hardly adjust anything except for speed and intensity (for instance, i prefere the VT to the spring reverb of my Fender deluxe amp, as that one is hardly customizable, the intensity control does the wholr thing and that is just... Not enough).

The VT is however not perfect: depending on the amp and guitar, it can trigger a bit of amplification, so that, when you turn it off, the sound can seem a little weak. The switch has failed couple of times.

Overall this pedal makes great value for money and does a great job, recommended!
