Can not be better ...

Tim K., 05.10.2009
First of all, the biggest advantage of the M13 is called: The Sound! Since I own a few of the "modded" originals, I had, of course, immediately after unpacking the A / B comparison perform ... of course, of course :)
In order to spare the reader unnecessary tension, I can only say: Although the controls on the original behave somewhat different, the original sound comes close to confusing.
What you must mention to the M13: It is NOT a multieffect ala Boss or Digitech with Ampsimulationsen etc. What I would like to say: Practicing with headphones does not work, of course, since it is a pure EFFECTS device ... So almost as if you directly with a headphone into a Boss MetalZone insert ... that can not sound good :)
If you are aware of this, you get a really recommendable device.

Small drawback: no bypass switch. To put the device in the (true) bypass, you have to either switch all effects one after the other or switch to the scene mode, but this is also not properly promising. A hardware button for this would make the device nearly perfect.

On the subject "Features" be said that I now the update 2.0 finally enough WahWahs exist ... fine thing for the one who owns an additional foot pedal! But also a pitch shifter and a whammy are now part of the ...

Outstanding effect for the money

Joerg, 24.01.2010
I bought the device as a supplement to the POD X3 Live, as the M13 offers some effects that the POD X3 does not offer. As a big U2 fan I had the Verbzilla simulation in mind.

- Processing:
++ Here one has to praise Line 6. The device comes in a stable metal case and is (and is) very robust. There is nothing to wiggle about, it does not get any better.

- Optics:
++ Even here you could not have done better. The housing looks great, the controls (ie the footswitch and the controller) are clearly arranged and sufficiently separated from each other so that you do not accidentally pass a wrong button.
The color-illuminated LCDs and footswitches for the 4 effect tracks make of course what. Depending on the selected genre, the elements are illuminated in different colors (eg blue, yellowish green or red).

Disadvantage: The foot switches, if deactivated, still have a light lighting. This can cause problems with unfavorable ambient lighting times. It had not disturbed me so far, but I can imagine the other in the gig sometimes have trouble.

-- Service:
+ All in all positive. The operation of the effects is very intuitive, Line 6 has done well. Adjust effects via the rotary knobs, select effects and activate / deactivate them using the buttons. This is not a problem. The configuration of the device (ie inputs / outputs etc) per se would have been perhaps a trace easier to design. But all in all perfectly adequate, and you do not have to look into the manual. Overall positive.

- Sound:
++ Top! I can not say otherwise. One notices that the rachene
