Line 6 M13

Daniel8470, 08.01.2014
This is a great unit for the guys who want a simple unit that does a lot and does it well. The delays, chorus and Reverbs in this unit is great! And I'm talking about really good here. The other effects are a bit more inconsistent, some are good, others not so much. But, If you mainly use effects like chorus, delay and reverbs This unit is fantastic. That everything is so easy to set up is also a great feature. No problems running a four cable wiring and keep things neat and tidy. Way easier to keep things clean with this thing compared to a traditional pedalboard. I'd recommend this unit to the guy who needs a lot of great tones at his disposal (the guy who covers a lot of different styles and songs during a set) while the traditional rock guy who maybe uses four different sounds may be happier using traditional pedals. As I said, the delays, choruses and reverbs are great, some octaver effects are really cool. But I didn't really like the drives in this unit. Having said that I really liked this unit but went for a traditional pedalboard out of boredom. I enjoy buying a bunch of pedals and piecing together pedalboards.

A well rounded unit, very versatile.

The Line 6 M13 Stompbox Modeler is an all-in-one pedal board. It features a comprehensive collection of stompbox effects, along with a looper. There's no complicated menus or setup, the M13 has ease of use of a regular stomp box which for a guitar player at a gig is just what you want.

The M13 gives you a lot of tone control over the 19 Delays,23 Modulations,17 Distortions,29 Compressors and EQs,26 Filters (this includes a couple of different types of wah) and 12 Reverbs and you can have up to four different effects - or four of the same - simultaneously.

You can order the effects nearly any way you want and create different pedal board effect arrangements, or "scenes," and recall as stomp boxes. Create up to 48 pedal board scenes for instant recall so in effect you have 48 full pedal boards available at any time.
Its got a 28-second looper that has dedicated footswitches for Play/Stop, Half Speed, Reverse, Undo/Redo. The metal footswitches have withstood repeated stomping and abuse from many, many gigs.

The M13 has been out for a long time and there are newer units with better quality however the quality of the M13 is top notch. I was really impressed with the delays and filters and when you use the 4 cable method to connect the M13 to your amp fx loop, those effects really shine.
The boost comp is great and a lot of guys use the unit to replicate U2 sounds.
It takes up to 2 expression pedals and has an fx loop built in as well.

The overdrives/distortions can be a little processed (fizzy/digital sounding?) but a bit of tweaking on the eq section gives very, very usable results.

I found it to be very user friendly with some great sounds that has served me well I'd recommend it as an all in one solution for a gigging guitar player.
