Idiot-proof with great sound

Ima_derek, 30.12.2016
No, he does not deliver Wall of Sound. The size and the price is not.

I currently use it for more dynamics through unencrypted singing. When it's finally time, also as gig-amp for smaller indoor stories without PA (supplement comes then).

The sound is great when the guitar is playing (see below).
The sound is always clean, the sound control is effective, but not gross - the parametric mids are particularly beautiful. A suitable sound is found in the hand rotation, regardless of the type of pickup (piezo, pickup, micro). I imagine that Piezos are not quite as harsh as the case of the colleague's case.
In any case, the operation is idiotensicher, the instructions I have read only for the sake of duty.

I had a bit of concern (coming from the electric bass) because of the small speaker, but he does a very good job - after all, the spheres in popular hi-fi boxes are just around the 8 ", and there it works.

Very big is the wedge design - which I knew from my first bass amp (Laney RB-7) and was one of the reasons why I decided for the A1 + - which extends the range of use tremendously (for pubs- Gigs as sound reinforcement or as a monito box) and the fact that it can be placed on a box stand for medium gigs. Nevertheless, it is compact and light enough to carry it through the opening. Maybe not every day, but it goes ...

Two channels are fine, unfortunately my plan did not work, the second for the concert guitar to use (see below), but this is not at the Amp. What worked well was 2 guitars or guitar / acoustic bass to operate at the same time .

The FX section is expected to be rather meager, but if I wanted to have Hall and / or Chorus, then I would have a corresponding pedal advance or grind. But this is due to my preferences, for acoustics I would like no effects. Very clever solved I find the admixture of the effect part for each channel.

The really only (if tiny) drawback for a Pingelheimer like me: the mains switch - the only part, which is operated with every play with security is not on the back! Since the amp but hardly in a rack is installed, is the really miserable Gejammere ...

In short form the rest, as far as I can judge: The equipment is practical. Phantom power, DI, line-out are good features, FX loop and foot switch I do not need, as well shape (a mid-scoop), headphones and aux.

Would I buy him again? Probably yes, because the alternative (Marshall AS50) has 2 * 8 "(I need / want this sound pressure with an acoustikamp ?!), but is significantly heavier (I guess the Laney to 8--10 kg) and seemed to me The demos the sound more strongly. And hey - 31 Euro price difference are almost 2 sets Elixirs :-)

Sorry, what was longer, the Rezi.

-----------------
I tried it with a Framus FG14 (Piezo, my main acoustics), a Takmine GC1 (concert, Piezo - the only negative outlier, but that is imho on the guitar), an older Fender Dreadnaught (singlecoil and micro ), An old Oscar Schmidt Dreadnaught (Piezo), a no-name acoustic bass (piezo) and a heavy bass (single piece, humbucker).

What you want

11.10.2016
Hello everyone!

This little kid knows his doing and without fear pulls out all his potential!

I bought the Laney A1 + amplifier to play live with my acoustic guitar (Cort) and my classical amplifier guitar (Ramon Garcia). The sound it produces is incredibly powerful, although it is a 80 watt amplifier, with low bass, sharp ringing ... All you do not expect from an amplifier that mounts an 8 "cone with the addition of a tweeter. What's interesting is the versatility of the small Laney A1 +: with two inputs, one with phantom power (perfectly working with my Superlux R102 microphone that needs a 48v power supply) made life easier when I changed it Instrument on the Stage The ability to choose the average frequency is an added value to everything else. The anti-feedback works wonderfully in conjunction with the phase. The amplifier's effects are very good even if I use them only at home given Which in live I use a multi-effect pedal, especially with regard to the reverb and the ability to direct effects on either of the two channels or on both. Pie is the ability to connect it to a mixer via balanced (and not) output on the back. The real strength remains the price widely accessible to everyone.

In essence, an excellent product of excellent manufacturing quality at a great price.
