My new favorite monitor
Great honor to evaluate these monitors first.
I swayed between ADAM a77x, Focal 6BE and the KS digital. The smaller version was also available as an idea, but I wanted something that will continue to be successful in the future, I am also a fan of subwoofers or, better, a separate bass range, which brings a lot of clarity to the depths. ADAM were not yet, no DSP, no exact adjustment over the front possible, 3 ways. Focal 6 BE, no coaxial, only 2 ways.
Although the loudspeakers are somewhat oversized for my room, but fits for me as a future investment.
Similar to the sound: Wide, as well as extremely good depth gradation and stereo image. Have comparisons to Event 20/20, Adam A7X, PMC, Genelec, JBL, etc. I was amazed how obviously the panning is being used in some songs (especially hip-hop), this has never been so noticeable to me. Individual elements are very precisely locatable, like a point on a line. Depth gradation outstanding, from the in-your face to the, which sounds as if it were in the next room, everything is inside.
I am in love with these monitors, hardly a frequency they do not reproduce and I am simply a fan of coaxial construction, saves a lot of space and everything on Axis.
Volume, up to the Clublautstärkensimulation the approx. 280Watt per piece leave everything from fine head to the punch in the face.
The only drawback, it rushes and in a stillstand relatively audible. Do not disturb me now really not, but that's just me. Incidentally, have shielded cables from VOVOX from a UAD Apollo to the monitors, everything on power supply runs through a FURUMAN power conditioner. It seems to be noise after the amplifier stage, since even volume changes do not affect the noise. The noise is therefore constant (does not change the volume when the monitor loudness or signal volume change)
Processing: German quality product! Scratched Potis, Everything you can adjust can be found on the front, an arm length away. Excellent! No edges, no loose glue spots, everything is top! Also a good weight where you get the feeling of having something massive, valuable in your hands.
My room is relatively small, somewhat too small for such monitors (3mx3mx3m) this brings some problems in the bass range with itself. Much 60-80 Hz, hardly 100Hz. However, I wanted to use these monitors as a valuable tool for the future and in the future I see myself working in a larger space.
After a rough measurement with Sonarworx, they still sound a few neutrals in my room.
Excluding my room, this is an extremely good monitor, I would still rake a step further I would probably have to pay the 5-10 times.
Best listening at home, Thomann gives 30 days time, that must be enough.
