After the first of our stock of Behringer Ultra DI's died after many years of use, we looked for something as a replacement/upgrade for use in our church services. We have now replaced all of our DI's with these and the DN200 stereo version. We use these on acoustic & bass guitars, keyboards and laptop outputs. They sound great and are simple to use. They're a little smaller than a lot of the competition and cheaper than the 'branded' products in the same place in the market. Watch out for the pad button. These DI's have a single 30dB pad, rather than two 20dB pads as in most other models. The silicon skin is a great addition and makes the unit hard wearing, while maintaining the small form factor.
This DI is a great upgrade/investment for anyone wanting to use professional grade equipment, especially in live situations where audio quality, reliability and road-worthiness are all equally important.
I have some in constant use in a busy venue and they give pleasing results and reliability.
Features are basic, but are all you would really want on a DI in most cases.
In the live environment, DI's are liable to be stood on, kicked and dragged across the stage, or bounced off a stage tech's head, and the solid construction and rubber covering of the DN100 deliver the appropriate levels of durability and floor grip required for the job, and cushioning the blow to the stage tech somewhat, at the very least reducing the chances of breaking skin, while still ensuring a good solid impact is felt.
A no nonsense product with the Klark Teknik build and audio quality you would expect.
