QuNeo Delivers...

Tim823, 14.09.2013
All i wanted was a controller with a large trigger-field and visual feedback for my own customisation. I don't use SchmAbleton or [whatever] and most of the controllers out there with a good matrix of triggers are tied to, or designed for use with a DAW and so on. The QuNeo delivers. The editing software is well thought out, the workflow is intuitive. Tactile feel is a little stiff, but for the style of pressure-sensative membrane used, it's predictable, and You get used to it after 1 session, and it sure beats the uncertain feel of the Akai APC series.

I run mine in GRID mode triggering visuals, with shifts for the pads, so i cover almost the entire 127 midi notes, and so far i cannot fault this.

I cringe when i think of the time & money i wasted trying to get DAW controllers to talk to my software and show visual feedback of what i have been doing.

Flexible size, deaf fingers and gray hair.

10.07.2016
The operation is the great weakness of the QuNeo and in two respects. First, the sensitivity of the pads / faders / controls is strange and incomprehensible. The small buttons are highly sensitive and the pads, faders and controls are so insensitive that a finger becomes deaf after a short time and starts to ache. A change of the settings brings little remedy and leads us to the second.
The control software of QuNeo is confusing and works without feedback. I get no feedback when I save where and what. Man can change all parameters but only transfer and not save, or? But only under a company press? It also comes to erroneous transmissions, which means then hundreds of values ??to check and possibly change, without correctly storing. Nerve!

The features are as promised by the manufacturer and the purchase reason for this device. Everything can be adjusted as desired. However, this is only true for the LED control and manufacturer-specific for the sensitivity of the pads / faders / controllers.

The processing is according to the price. Although the controller is made of plastic, it is robust and feels solid despite its small size.

Conclusion:
As a sampler or effect controller is the QuNeo, in my experience, not recommended. Most key pads / faders / controls react only after massive pressure, which makes live playing impossible or painful. I use it to activate tracks in the gridmode, since it does not respond to fast and then the QuNeo does what it should. Really no gloss of Keith McMillen but enough for my purposes.
