Ultralight bass trombone with great sound!
The Kanstul 1670 is a largely original replica of the historic Conn 70H. The most important feature is the tuning mechanism on the train, as it was also realized on the historic original of Conn. Here, too, the only point for getting used to this otherwise wonderful instrument is the following: the tuning mechanics integrated into the train make the train heavier than usual in modern trombones. The heavier train also carries a certain overweight on his side, which can be offset by a balancer. (Note: the cross bar on the body is narrower in diameter than in Conn or Bach trombones, so I have fed the balancer with stage tape.) The sound is wonderfully round and soft, just like from historical Conn trombones from the Elkhart- Era accustomed. The intonation leaves nothing to be desired. Altogether it is an extremely easy (and therefore for a bad bass-trombone-shoulder) especially suitable for occasions where a two-part instrument is not necessary. The great George Roberts ("Mr. Bass trombone") applied the instrument as a bass trombone limited to the essentials and thus ultramodern!
