A FULL TREK without if and but !!

AlexanderS, 02.05.2013
Alright now.... :)

First a huge praise to thomann.
Have the amp on 19.04 ordered (available from 25.04) ....
I thought okay ne week I was gladly.
On 26.04 at 16.41 I got the shipping notification and on 27.04 at 10.26 rings DHL .... people astrein! Faster it does not go !! :)

Now but to the amp:

processing:
So I must say that the HDM feels very valuable. It wobbles nothing, it does not rattle anything, the potis run clean with good resistence, the jack sockets (speaker, fx-loop, footswitch and input) pack firmly.
Also the footswitch is effective. Bright blue LED no delay when switching, no crack etc ....
My (meanwhile ....) in the yearly hughes & kettner warp T (not the unspeakably bad transe ....) made in germany does not work against it / cleaner / better processed!
So far both times daumen hoch.

Sound: (all in conjunction with a engl xxl pro 4x12er)

Crunch:
Really clean goes without vol.poti the guitar not .... makes for me nix since I eh rather this "dirty" cleanton likes.
Overall very satisfactory in the crunch area.
I would like to be with the side of the amps but not too long, since I usually use the channel only to "muten" .... ^ ^
And the amp in the overdrive channel has much more to offer!

Overdrive:
Well what am I to say There the sun rises !! As my previous speaker has already written .... there is no gain stage in the amp kacke sounds!
Got the gainregler also on 6 in connection with a mxr gt od as cleanboost.
The direct comparison with my bandkollegen (6505 ...) need the HDM not shy!
The amp is (what high-gain and melodic-deathmetal with drop A # tuning concerns) absolutely tight, pressureful and - gaaanz important - PRÄSENT in the bandgefüge !!
But tight should not be confused with smooth iron ....
Because he is definitely not !! and that's just as well.
I have the feeling that it sounds very organic .... yes, even the one the clay almost with the fingers can grasp ....
But the most important feature of the amps is the DEPTH controller.
He does not necessarily push the lowend .... rather he pushes the deep in the signal! And these are so eminently important for the location in the band structure and the certain "wall of sound"! Works great!
Similar to the 6505 of my colleagues has the HDM at the turn on (all regulators at 12 o'clock) a ton which one likes or just not .... that is just pure taste. But he brings with him also this certain "asocial note" in the sound with itself .... and that is rather charmingly meant ....! :)

Who is looking for a very (currently at least) affordable amp searches easily in the high-gain geschäfft of the very large (also from the price-wise ....) should be able to access here!

Surprisingly good amp for the money! But there is still something better ...

Jan D. 562, 29.04.2013
At the WE came the Amp then. First impression: Wow! Do not look as cheap as initially feared.

2x12 Box (Extreme-Force Road Ready with 2 Eminence GB-128) and played the first chords. GREAT!!!! With a sound quality of this quality I have now really not expected at the price! The amp should originally serve as backup to my Marshall JVM, but I can kink. I am now playing a 2 amp setup! Have eh two boxes, as fits the.

Btw: I've been playing the guitar for 17 years, of which 12 are part-time. IIh had numerous other amps in my fleet, which were significantly more expensive from "well-known" manufacturers. I continue to put a lot of value on my tone and am not so easy to satisfy.

But further in the text:

The clean setting in the Crunsh channel (Gain so to 3-4) is so, not necessarily a strength of the amp. But from the half of the track klingts super awesome, beautifully torn. Turning the gain to the end has already the sound, which with other manufacturers already as High Gain goes through.

Btw: If you have the gain control on half, you can by turning back the volumepotis of the guitar nicely back into the clean fields, the amp makes in the context of its tonal possibilities. But still no Fender or H & K. A certain portion of "dirt" remains.

If you switch to the Overdrive Channel the sun rises. There is almost no gain setting, which sounds sch .... I have the regulator between 6 and 7, which is already quite neat and has still air to breathe.

Both channels are extremely well tolerated with boosters of any coleur. The sound mutes only with too much bass and additionally a high depth-setting of the output stage.

The amp harmonizes perfectly with humbuckers (whether Strat or LP), with Singlecoils it should already be somewhat output-stronger (Fender Texas Special or Leosounds Red House) The Vintage SC came over the Amp not soooo great.

According to Musik-Board.de gibbet still plenty of possibilities to optimize the amp. Thus an exchange of the precursor tubes will work miracles. This is done next week.

But what is missing to me to be happy is a pure clean channel. Good to neglect with my 2-amp variant. If I were to play the jet city alone, he would definitely be missing. Let's see, if necessary, I find an amp tuner, which can me a clean channel can install.

In summary: Buy !!! Especially at the price!

I have changed the Vorstufenöhren now. TAD 030 into the V1, the remainder with the TAD 001. People: Investigate the few toads! It is worth it!
