Tailgut

Simple tailgut for violin, easy to put in. Plastic may wear after long use, but is easy to replace and very price-worthy. Good for beginner.

DM
A quality replacement
Declan McTiernan 05.05.2017
The original tailgut snapped on my daughter?s violin so I needed a replacement. I opted for this one because the materials seem durable and having the threaded ends would allow some improved adjustment to her violin setup.

Pros:
Easy to install
Threaded ends allow adjustment of the tailgut length

Cons:
None

Verdict:
I?m very pleased with my purchase. Easy to fit. A quality product, would recommend this. Thomann?s customer service was excellent, the original item was lost in transit having fallen out due some damaged packaging however Thomann were quick to resolve the issue.

Simple solution
Lorin L. 18.03.2018
This is a simple solution for a tailpiece without extra cord.
However, the minimum length from the lower nut may not be short enough if you want to set the tailpiece very low.

As an alternative, you can also try a kevlar cord and see if it works good with your instrument. Afterwards, you can always go back to the nylon one.

Facile !
Nathalie 03.06.2011
