I'll admit to being somewhat spoiled and needed a case to hold my AxeFX III and my Helix Rack. I wanted the case to also:

- House a 2U drawer for cables, extra strings and accessories.
- Mount a Furman power conditioner to reduce cable clutter and hum.
- Have trolley wheels and a handle so that I can move it around easily.

Considering that this isn't a full-on touring case, it does the job really well. Everything I've fitted as gone in without an issue, it's robust enough to survive being moved about and the clasps appear to be sturdy. The wheels aren't brittle and the handle is... handy.

It's blow-moulded plastic with a metal subframe. No, it's probably not going to survive a world tour, but it's a fraction of the cost and weight of something that would put up with that amount of abuse.

If you want a 10U rack case that doesn't tie you to your home/studio and you don't have the luxury of a roadie (i.e. - more than 99.9% of musicians), this will do everything you want without costing as much as everything you mount in it.

Let's just look at it objectively, this is a low cost plastic moulded rack, it's not going to protect your stuff if you drop it, but then it's not really meant to, it's not that kind of rack.

I've owned a few racks, expensive foam sleeved ones to just bog standard wooden cases, and this is the first moulded plastic one I have owned.

It is easier to carry, has easier to grip handles, it is lighter and it takes up a bit less space than wooden ones or foam sleeved ones, however I know full well that if I don't take good enough care of this and drop it or something stupid, it will break.

It's a case to hold your gear, it's up to YOU to take the extra case to make sure you don't break anything. In that context this is a great rack.

Had the 6u unit before but as so easily happens, one buys new stuff and then....some new stuff and quit quickly run out of space.

The 10u unit works of course just as great our previous rock. It really IS a great help with the built in wheels and they do seem to survive the somewhat rough life it's getting.
