This piece of gear is something unique!

I have been playing guitar with a rack system some years ago and I found this item so much helpful. It's very versatile!

Some Advantages:
- Usable as A/B box or Looper
- Usable as looper expander of another looper
- You can put it or put many of them anywhere in your signal chain. This is very helpful when you are working with big rack systems with digital effects processors, analog pedals, DI and not DI outs, different amps, etc...
- Midi controllable and Switch controllable
- Size, weight and construction
- Good price

Disadvantages:
None

You imagination is the limit for the capabilities of this item!

M
Compact, easy to use and great value
Mytola 25.05.2021
This piece of gear is extremely useful for musicians who want to add analog non-midi compatible pedals into a MIDI-controlled setup.

It fits under my Pedaltrain Novo 24 (along with a Cioks DC-7 mounted in the Cioks grip) and should work with any MIDI-controller really. I personally use a Morningstar MC8, and now all my pedals can be turned on/off by the controller.

Switching is totally silent, which is really nice as one of the pedals I use in the loop (Red Witch Moon Phaser) emits a pretty loud pop when switched on/off on the pedal itself. No need to worry about this now with the G-LAB!

Build quality seems solid, and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I hope they do a stereo version in the future, but this one is really perfect considering the size and price.

In control

Wanted to switch some pedals that were not midi capable.
bought this and have it under my board, but facing up so I can press the overide buttons and see which loop is on also.
It is better having the pedals in the loop and switching via midi because it switches silently as these pedals tend to give a pop when kicking in when just in the signal chain.
It also improved the sound as the pedals are bypassed when not switched in.
It is a low power draw, so can go off a low port on the power supply.
So originally wanted it for midi control, but also got silent switching and improved sound, so yes five stars !!!

A
excellent addition to a MIDI setup
Anonymous 12.04.2015
I bought this unit so that i could include a couple of my favourite analog pedals in my new MIDI setup. I'm using a nova system and a nova drive but wanted to integrate my compressor and another drive pedal. The unit is small, sturdy and fits nicely in a corner of my board. The instructions are straighforward, and I found it easy to wire up my pedals. i'm using a Peak midi controller, and configufing the G lab midi looper to accept both my pedals on different channels to the nova system and the nova drive was easy and quick to do. Makes such a difference that I bought the 4 channel version as well and will be selling off my other non-midi switching unit. excellent and fast delivery from Thomann as well. Heartily recommended

G Lab Midi 2x Looper
John1049 06.01.2015
I bought this originally to use with a TC Electronics G System as an extra couple of loops. The housing is very sturdy and reassuringly heavy and has a very handy diagram directly onto the casing to make sure there are no mistakes as to signal flow. Midi implementation was simple after consulting the manual and worked seamlessly.

Later I also used it as an input selector for two instruments. Putting it before the G System with two different guitars hooked up and using midi to switch between them. It's also performed mightily at this task.

I eventually sold the G System and currently have a G Lab GSC Switcher as the heart of my effects set up based on my experience of the quality of this unit. Thumbs up!

Good but inaccurate information in manual
Simoco 15.07.2014
This looper has been very good and operated faultlessly since it arrived 7 months ago. The only criticism I have is that the MIDI implementation information in the manual was inaccurate and whilst I could work out what the designer had in mind, for some this could be a show stopper. (Basically the CC numbers were out by one)... Once I got over this hurdle, it has been absolutely rock solid.

T
Best value MIDI looper around
Tim2790 19.07.2014
I have the 4 loop version and this 2 loop version. They are both excellent. Instant, silent switching, no active circuitry to colour your tone, simple to use.

I use them with a TC G-System to give me extra pedal loops, and the G Sys programming makes this even simpler to use. IMHO these are a better option that using hard wired relays such as the ones in the G Sys; the G Sys relays are not instant switching and I find the lag annoying. None of that with the G Lab products.

Very well made units, and they are also the cheapest alternatives I've found to solve my problem. Better than everything I've seen out of the US market.

I have a G Lab MIDI line switcher also, and it too is really well made and gives instant switching.

This is very well made and easy to use. Works great under the pedal board and switches loops on via midi easily and reliably. Good value for money.
