Amazing what today is for the minimal money: Very good neck, processing everything in order. She came quite well adjusted, even intonation very acceptable only required three riders minimal correction. In the 80s one got for about 120.- - 150 DM (Kaufkraftbereinigt ..) nothing so good! Sound is quite useful, if not quite as transparent as desired, especially with the single coils - but absolutely usable! Is modified eh, first another capacitor value, then possibly pickup change, Pickguard. The Fender Squier Bullet is well suited for enhancing crafting / modding. The tremolo is good enough not to have to be replaced at once - for Dive Bombs it is not designed anyway - If strings have stretched (!) Well and have set, largely uninhibited in moderate use.
Irrelevant criticisms: After 30 minutes of the enthusiast's best, black fingers from the fingerboard: strings down, cleaning gasoline and finally Lemon Oil - finished & over. The mechanics are of poor quality, some of them are hard, but they do their job flawlessly and you will not look at them - but they will surely be replaced by inexpensive locking mechanisms (small obstacle: seem to be 8mm holes, then have to be expanded)
No final assessment to the sound of the PUs, since I have so far only tested on headphones at the Vox Tonelab ST. Overall, stratified, although the humbucker has more power, but seems to me too thin down, in the low middle range or high bass range, as always ...
Color: AW = arctic white ... I would not have thought that AW in nature in the direction of vanillapuddingfarben, thus presented in yellow, makes nothing, I find meanwhile even better. The one-layer white (ugly) pickguard gives the guitar a really cheap look. Have a white pearl pickguard made on it, now it looks noble. Attention! The holes fit (with me up to one, right of the bridge) not exactly! Shaplikstäbchen cut and into the old holes.
Strings: good, you can still optimize something without it rattles. Vibrato lever has a bit too much play in the thread, ie wobbles too much, as usual. Mechanics: bad, because partly difficult and hakelig and difficult to dose. I will replace with better clamping mechanisms (about 40 - 50 Eur).
Overall, I am however due to the price / performance ratio (almost) very satisfied. If I still have my favorite EMG PU set on it, I am completely satisfied.
