This guitar is pure magic

I don't know what to say after playing all day with this jazzmaster. It definitely has some magic mojo, some magic fairy dust, I don't know. But it takes me back, way back. The sound is crystal clear and warm, even the bridge pickup sounds bright but warm at the same time, cannot explain this. I have a few Harley Benton teles that I love as well, but this one is so different, it adds a lot to my collection. I tend to play more ambient and slow music with this one, no rockabilly, no surf, even though others I am sure that will buy it for these genres. A little bit of reverb and i am getting lost into mysticistic bliss. If that make any sense. It didn't need any setup and I didn't change the strings, as I intended to do. The colors are fantastic, the feel of the neck and the body too. Definitely my favorite guitar so far. Squier keeps getting better and better!

high end squier

I've ordered this guitar with no expectations on how good it will sound. I'm mainly metal genre player and these single coils are managing it on next level! Not the best ones for chugs, however everything else is just nice and warm. I've recorded lovely ambient leads in a few hours.
Now to the worse part: Fretboard needs polishing, few frets were sharp and strings came in a bit damaged. After all the changes required this guitar is machine able to handle soft and distorted tones like a champ.

Absolut begeistert! - Sie kam, sah und siegte.

Die Gitarre war überhaupt gar nicht im Fokus, als ich mich in den frühen Morgenstunden auf den Weg nach Treppendorf gemacht hab.
Doch was soll ich sagen - sie hat überzeugt. Ich war anfangs etwas verwirrt, da die übrigen Farben der 40th-Serie auf ca 330-350 Euro reduziert wurden, aber ich muss sagen - die knapp 500 euro ist die Gitarre wirklich wert. Sie liegt super in den Händen - das Finish ist absolut nice - die matte Oberfläche wie auch die gealterten Mechaniken sehen Top aus und fassen sich wunderbar an. Spieltechnisch ist sie absolut klasse - ich hatte vorher noch keine Jazzmaster, kann sie allerdings mit einer Jaguar vergleichen. Die Tonvarianz durch den Rythm-Kanal ist ganz nett -aber für mich ist das ein etwas arg tief-ton-lastiger Modus.
Die Gitarre spielt in Kombination mit einer Gretsch und einer PRS Singlecut und ergänzt das Ensemble durch ihren Solid-Body und den SingleCoils perfekt. Der Tremolo spricht gut an, brauch ich aber nie. Für eine brauchbare Oktavenreinheit musste man nochmal 15-20 Minuten Hand anlegen - genauso wie die Abstände zwischen Pickup und Saiten - aber das gehört nun einfach dazu. Die Bünde waren alle Plan und sauber abgerichtet. Das "verschnörkelte" Squire-Logo in der Kopfplatte sieht deutlich ansprechender aus, als der Standard-Schriftzug.

Gewichtstechnisch ist sie etwas schwerer - das könnte aber auch an dem absolut griffigen Alu-Schlagbrett liegen. hier sollte dazu gesagt sein, dass die Poti-Knöpfe gerade so über das Schlagbrett schleifen. man sollte diese auch etwas "lösen" sonst kratzen sie und lassen sich nicht vernünftig drehen.

Alles in allem: nach vielleicht 30 Minuten Optimierungen ein absolut zu empfehlendes Produkt :-)

Cette guitare est ma première Squier, c'est une édition plutôt particulière et assez chère donc je ne sais pas si ça reflète la qualité Squier habituelle mais j'ai été très agréablement surpris par la qualité et la finition apportée à cette guitare, pas un seul poc, ou éclat, là où mes Fender ont toujours eu un éclat de peinture au niveau de la jonction du manche et du corps.

La finition satiné est réussie et l'accastillage semble tenir le choc. Le travail sur les frettes est cependant un peu décevant, j'ai du poncer les frettes sur le modèle que j'ai reçu, les cordes accrochaient lors des bends.

Les réglages sortie d'usine sont médiocres (du moins sur le modèle que j'ai reçu). Action très haute et intonation pas du tout réglée (les pontets était quasi tous visés au maximum). Le manche était correctement réglé en revanche.

Côté son, après un réglage correct, c'est très bien. Pas besoin de changer le bridge, mais prévoir un upgrade des micros potentiellement en fonction de ce que vous recherchez.

Bref, pour moins de 500€, ça fait une Jazzmaster très correcte avec un look très sympa !
