Jim Atkins?

Leclerc C., 21.05.2011
Features quite original for a telecaster ...

To check, but it seems to me that the neck is thinner than that of a standard telecaster. Access to acute is very easy. One of the great strengths of this guitar is its ergonomics, because for a telecaster (I had a standard mexico telecaster before) it is really nice to play even if there is no stomach cut. After a year of playing with my old telecaster, I was still not used to it, here in 4 days I feel totally at ease with the JA 90. It may not be very important but the guitar sounds very well empty, and when the branch is noticed first that we have a huge sustain, the bridge pickup is survitaminé and the neck pickup very plump.

I play mostly metal with atmospheric passages and post rock and sometimes punk-hardcore touches. So I needed sounds of drunk but also clean and crunch sounds pretty round. I play on a 6505 + and a classic 30. The JA-90 is very sharp in easel position and very angry. In the middle position we will enjoy playing stoner riffs with a small effect "twang" noticeable. In the neck position, we change the sound completely and we can play very hot arpegas with non-screaming highs and deep bass-mediums.

I have it in red, and it kills! Super raging with the SP 90 3 and beautiful clean with the sp 90 1. Perfect finishes and ideal playing comfort (I had sold a standard tele because too unpleasant in terms of playing comfort).

rosewood fingerboard (not systematic on the tele at this price), sticky neck and semi hollow body that can have a huge sustain, bridge type tune o matic (a real advantage when you want to make full of palm mute because the easels tele modern or standards are not very suitable for this), and to check but it seems to me that the handle is a little more "thin" than a standard TV ... the microphones that can do as well the stuffing metalopunk that blues or post rock. Personally I also find that we find more the "son" telecaster (a slight twang) with the JA-90 than a standard telecaster mexico ...

Fender JA-90 Kim Adkins: Quality Control?

DOP, 12.02.2012
Processing:
Unfortunately, I have to put the processing of the copy delivered to me at the beginning. The fact that "out of the box" the plastic cap of the 3-way switch was broken off, one of the 4 volume / tone controls on the top scratched, the jack bush loose and in the F hole still a lot of grinding dust was The octave purity could not be adjusted satisfactorily, since the range of adjustment of the string runners did not have any effect, which might have been corrected by turning the strings, but the strings were not bunched. If even the simplest chords of the octave purity are only pitched after a distorted guitar, the instrument is a case for the ton ...

In the review with the other evaluations it shows once again that it is obviously not possible to expect quality control in the middle price segment, at least in Asian production, in this case Indonesia. Quality control takes place only at the end customer. Here, Fender hurts his own image; In the case of USA or the Mexico models, which were even much more favorable compared to the JA-90, I had such shortcomings.

A final check at Thomann I would not ask for in this price segment, but you could consider yourself whether one for an extra charge is not a workshop setup, one day more between order and delivery I would gladly accept.

Features:
An interesting telephon with the features of a guitar from the house of the other big manufacturer from the USA.

Sound:
As far as I can tell, the P-90 pickups also deliver the typical crunch sound here; Coupled with the twang of a telegenial, even though the height load is probably not quite as obtrusive because of the glued neck. Clean sounds were not really possible on my AC-15, also not with far back-turned volume control. More I can not say, since I have sent the guitar back again.
