Beautiful sound and well-made.

12.04.2015
I've been playing for about 6 years now and this is my 2nd Epiphone SG. I bought this one entirely because I really like the wood effect. I previously had the worn cherry model, but my nephew expressed an interest in learning to play so I gave him that one and bought myself this one.

It sounds great. No fret buzz or nasty feedback issues. The sustain is brilliant and it sounds clear as a bell on both neck and bridge pickups.
I mostly play blues and rock, and for me, this guitar isideally suited for these genres. I still consider myself to be a beginner, so I had a friend of mine play it also. He's been playing all his life and agrees with me that this is just a very good guitar. Well made with a great tone. He did note that the neck is a bit thick, which is apparently not so good for fast metal, but this doesn't really concern me as I have zero intention of playing any Dragon Force nonsense on my gorgeous instrument.

I've only ever played Epiphone SGs, before that I had a dreadful fender-esque thing that sounded terrible and looked even worse. So I don't really have a wide scope of what constitutes a "good" guutar, but wjat I will say is this: If you are looking to upgrade from your first guitar to a serious guitar, but don't want to break the bank, you can't go far wrong with an Epiphone SG. It's a quality guitar at a reasonable price.

Classic tones

Schuriken, 13.01.2014
The Good : Dark satin finish all over, Good pickups, A very good copy from the original vintage model, Very light, Warm tones and Rock play, much better than the cheaper models.

The Bad : Neck like a baseball bat, Neck is heavier than the entire guitar, It takes some getting used to.
