Was mich aber störte, waren die recht harschen Klänge, wenn man den Gain mit dem "Hot"-Schalter in die Verzerrung brachte. Irgendwie klang es steril und künstlich. Das war ein deutlicher Gegensatz zu dem ausgezeichneten Clean-Klang. Wenn man die Höhen an der Gitarre zurücknahm, wurde es besser, aber nicht voll überzeugend.

Ich hatte dabei den Sound des Egnater Renegade 112 im Ohr, den ich als Hauptamp spiele und der mich regelmäßig aus den Socken haut mit seinem Ansprechverhalten und sahnigen Sound. Schließlich hatte ich mir ja den Tweaker als Stellvertreter für Zuhause gedacht...
Was konnte die Ursache sein? Sovtek AX7 Vorstufenröhren gezogen, JJ's hinein und die Sonne ging auf. Mit dieser kleinen Veränderung hat man den hochwertigen Sound, den ein Egnater auszeichnet.
Der Amp ist durchaus nicht nur für das Schlafzimmer zu verwenden. Er kann richtig laut und dürfte sich mit Übungsraumlautstärken problemlos arrangieren, wenn der Trommler sein Set nicht noch über die PA laufen lässt... Für die Bühne halte ich ihn auch für geeignet, wenn man die passende Box anschließt.
Fazit: Der Tweaker bietet sehr gute Röhrensounds zum Üben und für das Studio, er verträgt sich ausgezeichnet mit einem Booster, wenn man damit Solopassagen "anblasen" will.
