Enough grip and durable
BasGef 13.01.2020
Introduction
Normally I'm a 1.14 Dunlop Gator Grip user, but I thought I'd give these Tortex ones a try. For reference, I’m using these with electric guitars that are usually stringed with Ernie Ball Power Slinky 11-48s.

These don’t slip
Although they are not the Gator grips, they’re definitely not slippery either. I’ve not had one of these slip out of my hand yet. The texture of the picks provides enough grip to keep these firmly clamped between your fingers. I imagine that the rigidity of the 1.14 thickness also helps here, but I have not played <1mm picks recently enough to really confirm that.

Size and shape
These come with a rounded tip, and I prefer that to a more pointy pick. Other than that obvious characteristic, the Tortex picks feel marginally larger in my hand than the Gator Grips. And even though both are supposed to be 1.14mm thick, the Tortex feels slightly thinner. Part of this may have to do with the fact that the Tortex picks have a perfectly flat surface, whereas the Gators have a slight curve. I personally prefer the latter.

Durability
This is where the Tortexes clearly win for me. I cannot quite quantify this, but after using several of the Tortex picks, the tips appear to show less wear from string contact than the Gators do. I would still not be able to reuse the same one too many times, but the Tortex picks should last you a bit longer.

To summarise:
Positive
* Durability
* Textured surface prevents slipping
* Rigidity of the pick

Negative
* None really.
If I had to mention one thing, I'd say the slightly flat and slightly larger surface than Dunlop's Gators, but this is just personal preference.

Excellent, just excellent

I usually play with the pichblacks but every so often I change pace with the standard. The difference is only in feel of the tip one the strings, the tip is slightly less sharp. Excellent in all ways, especially for accuracy and heavy chugging depending on how you hold your pick. The big pack is a life saver. Always go for quantity and forget about buying or losing picks for the next ten years.

Awesome Pics!

These plectrums are great! I find that because they're so hard, it adds an extra punch/natural compression and clarity to my playing. If you're used to softer pics then these will take some getting used too, but they're great for making your guitar/bass notes really pop!

Love these picks
Devourment 18.05.2017
I play with these picks almost for about a year and really happy with it

Pros:
1. They are really handy
2. 1.14 gauge works great both with the heavy distorted sound and clean picking

Cons:
1. The tip of a pick too fast become rounded

I love these! Been my favourites for years!

I've been using these particular plectrums for years and really like them. They feel like home. Grippy during even the sweatiest of gigs I can honestly say I've never dropped one at a gig. The wear well and the only downside I find is that I lose them all the time!

Not a lot to say besides they're the thickness I like, they grip well and they're purple. Good for bass too. They don't last long, but that might just be me!
