Pure Blues-pure quality
I was always an Ernie ball fan although I tried a lot of brands in the past. A friend of mine was using DR’s he suggested me to try these babies.
Well I have to say I was blown away with the sound of these strings, the clarity even with mushier distortion tones was unbelievable. My guitar was sounded warmer with more harmonic overtones jumping out in every chord and greater string definition when soloing.
My only complaint is the price as these babies are way more expensive than the Ernie ball, so 5 sets of DR’s cost like 6 sets of EB’s.
Personally now I use both brands EB’s for rehearsing and bedroom play, DR’s for recording.

the vintage sound of blues
Before the late 60's, pure nickel was the only option available for guitar strings. It gives a more vintage sound which is ideal for blues, jazz, soul and early rock'n roll. The feel is a little sloppier so you can choose the next size of strings for a fuller sound or stay with what you had an experiment easier string bends. Note that you will have to adjust your treble settings on your amp because they are less bright than modern strings, so you have to compensate to cut thru the general mix in a band. Will give you a warmer sound easily.

One of the best
I use DR Pure Blues for years not. It is very equal and round sound. Very precise playing. Long-lasting- for a studio where I have few guitars it is very useful, that strings keeps sound during time even if not played for any reason.

Thought I'd give these strings a try, as Justin Sandercoe from Justin Guitar recommended them in his videos. They seem to give a brighter tone which is ideal for blues stuff I play, and the bright tone lasted a while.

Great strings for Strats
The Pure Blues from DR are superb hand made strings, perfect on Strats but also great on humbucker style guitars. They give a particular warm tone on those alnico vintage single coils, especially on the neck pickup, while reacting to the picking well enough to transfer much of the attack to the coils, creating the effect of a slightly compressed sound where you can hear each string you play clearly. They take gain well, however those are not recommended for metal tones. They are fantastic for blue and rock. Pay attention to the printed instructions when changing the strings, they do break as the manual suggest. While you will still want to change the strings often, the DR seem to last forever and keep both tone and tune longer than many other strings I have tried.

My kind of strings
I have played quite a few strings across the years, and I have settled on these during the last ~5 years or so. These strings have nice clang on them, and they sound great both on a Gibson SG that I use, and a Strat copy, which is my second guitar at the moment. I used to use 9's, but the clean tone is so much fuller on 10's that I use them for now. String bends are still effortless.

DR Strings 10-46
First time i have used DR strings and found them very good. I'm still a beginner so i can't make a judgement on tone, sound or longevity as i haven't changed them yet. However i did find that they need only 3 or 4 stretchings before they stayed in tune, which is better than any other string i have used before.
