Ingenious concept, but unfortunately not for hard rock / metal to use

RFR, 07.07.2015
I ordered the pedal because I was hoping to get a preview of how the whole thing could sound with bass and drums when writing new songs or new riffs.
Unfortunately, the trio could not meet my requirements, but this is mainly due to the music I play and not to the pedal itself.
The concept itself is quite ingenious and certainly suitable for many guitarists.

First of all, the positive:
-The thing is built like a tank. Definitely on stage. Here, nothing jiggles, the jacks sit perfectly in the jacks, the Potis make a high-quality impression. In short, all controls feel simply high-quality.
The Trio is easy and intuitive to use, but the optional foot switch is my duty.
-The drum sounds sound pretty good in my opinion
-The pedal looks great :)

The negative:
The "hardest" style is rock, I mainly play metal / hard rock in the style of the 80s. I thought with the Rock-Preset I can work safely, but was unfortunately not so.
There is no style that is at Tempos over 160 even in the remotest well.
- As in other reviews, it was already reported: If you do not really SIMPLE and especially very few chords, the bass plays crazy.
This, and the fact that the bass is very artificial and is sometimes unpredictable even with simple chord sequences, have led me at the end of my tests to completely kick out the bass and record the bass track even with WhammyDT and Looper.
-After the learning phase, a style is automatically selected. Unfortunately, in my opinion always the one that suits the least.
-The tempo was also always misrecognized, everything beyond 160 BPM was inaccurately recognized and from 180 BPM came an accompaniment in the tempo 90-100 out, using "old time" button (should actually double the track / half Fast play) has only listened to littly ....
-Man can not sync the trio with a looper. That I knew, but I had underestimated how fast but all out-of-sync is if one does this manually :)

For me, the trio is unfortunately nothing, I have sent it back and will probably continue to write completely with my Looper.
However, I would very much like to imagine that the pedal is well suited for use at the "camp fire" or for the practice of simple chord sequences / songs.
Even for beginners, who want to practice their first chords or even want to practice the first experiences in the interplay with others, he is definitely suitable.

I have wired the trio so that it comes before the tuner as the first pedal in the chain.
The sounds generated by the pedal then went directly into the mixing console via the mixer-out and could be edited with the EQ there as desired, while I continued the (unadulterated) guitar signal from the trio's amp socket through my normal effect chain, the looper and afterwards Also looped into the mixing console.
The trio at the beginning of the effect chain also has the nice side effect that the amp output is buffered.
If you only have something to hang in the beginning of the effect chain only true bypass pedals and play with passive pickups.

Tl; dr:
-not for "harder" styles than classic rock
-super processing
-right good drumsound
-what weak bass sound

Read the instructions carefully.

Dirk E. 764, 12.09.2015
When the trio came and I did the first tests, I wanted to pack it right back and send it back. Luckily, I then tried again but a while and now I would not give it any more. One must, however, be aware that this is an exercise device and nothing for live performances.

If you have read the instructions, one is also clear why. To teach, one must serve the instrument chords in a way that the audience does not really want to hear and one must also work very precisely, because even small timing differences bring the device to produce wild, useless bass lines. However, if the training process is carried out accurately, the trio can become the best mate. The bass is not even my favorite, but the drums are varied and sound like a real drummer. To program this on a drum computer for a while, on the Trio you just get a few chords out and the thing goes off .... You can also kick out bass or drums completely. And it is worth mentioning the three storage locations, which can be used to make Vers / Bridge / Refrain stories and then the thing is really fun. If you switch over, the device plays the current part still ready, so that one can draw there earlier and do not have to be careful to get the exact point. Switchover with external switch is even more comfortable (short tap), but is also possible with the built-in foot switch (short hold). If only two memories are occupied, then it only changes between the two, so you do not have to go over the empty one every time.

Really super part to jam all alone! Only Midi could be still, then one could still synchronize it with a Looper ...
