After 4 years of playing bass in bands I started to dedicate more time to the guitar, and I discovered that I really liked V style guitars, they were the most comfortable instruments I ever played standing. I researched to see if I could find a V style bass as well, but usually prices were to high and I quickly forgot the idea.

I found this bass one weekend while browsing through Thomann's catalog and I didn't rest until I ordered it, and it was sometime before it was in stock and I could, finally, play it!

I wasn't expecting the best instrument in the world, judging by its price tag, but it is really comfortable to play standing, the neck is very comfortable and fast, the higher frets accessible and its balance is great, as every Vs.

The stock strings were horrible, I really disliked them and I changed them recently, much better now. The pick up is good for metal, The low end response is much stronger than in the higher strings, a fact that is much more noticeable with the stock strings. The lack of a neck pick up is a deal breaker for using this bass as my main one, I use it mostly when I want to play more comfortably in rehearsals but when I want to record something I use other instruments.

Finding a case for it is difficult, the only one from Thomann in which it would fit was as expensive as the bass itself, so I am using a Jackson King V bag to fit the body and most of the Metalman's neck and using the remaining of its box to protect the top of the bass.

It is a reasonable instrument, with decent sound quality but very comfortable and fun to play. I recommend it if someone is looking for a V style bass to have some fun, but it is not the best bass in the world. A more professional version, with better pick ups (not only one) and a more well thought construction would be a great, great instrument!

For what it is, it is 5*

This is a beautiful looking and sounding bass guitar. Tuners feel nice and the pickup is immense! (Even though it's a passive one). Tone control works well and helps make the single pickup have a variety of sounds. Neck feels nice too!
