A beautiful guitar

Thomas Fiolet, 04.11.2017
I was looking for an EX type guitar, I quickly turned to Chapman ... and I am very far from disappointed.

I use this guitar as much to play at home without amp or group on a Peavey 100 W, and in both cases it goes really well. I play mainly Hard Rock and Metal.

To list the advantages of this guitar: After a very simple adjustment (all tools are provided), the game is extremely comfortable (I advise to lower the action and play Eb). You just have to press the rope so that the note comes out.
The sound is clear and powerful, it's quite obvious when I compare it to my Epiphone Les Paul. The push-pull tone control allows you to get a little more "vintage" sound very nice that extends the possibilities of the guitar. Of course it is clean or with a lot of saturation the sound is always very clear and powerful.
I also appreciate the raw wood look, it is very "soft" and the hand slides perfectly on the handle.
The guitar is also delivered in a beautiful box that isolates it very well from dust and moisture, a soft cloth, adjusting tools and strap locks for the strap.

If I had to find some disadvantages there would be these:
During the game sitting the guitar is very "left" compared to a Les Paul (of course it comes from the EX design) (I quibble for this one)
Otherwise the guitar detuned a bit, but the tuning is easy and very good time to play even several hours.

In short if you are looking for a guitar for shredd with a modern sound and a look of hell, do not hesitate to take the Ghostfret, I do not regret a single second to have put 1100 ¤ in this wonder.

Caution

Musiconaute, 13.11.2017
I was looking for a resolutely metal-oriented model and following the many reviews I read, I decided to give this Ghost Fret a chance. Why I am not satisfied:

- The paint is disgusting, the pores of the wood are not clogged and it is full of asperities. Also it overflows a little on the places where it should not be there (junction sleeve / body for example).

- The strap locks are quite cheap, on my model one is particularly poorly clipped, moreover, located on the back of the guitar, it tends to return to the belly when playing seated and moreover it unscrews.

- So ok, I sometimes tend to play hard enough, but the Mi strings get stuck regularly under the neck pickup.

- There are several traces of planes. It's not catastrophic, but it's a little disgusting anyway.

- The guitar is unbalanced while standing.

- The jack output is easily unscrewed.

- The mechanics are not very precise.

- My luthier had to file the bridges which already showed signs of wear (after only a few weeks !!).

- Access to acute is not optimal (try a sweeping plan in the last boxes, galley).

- The place provided for the strap locks in the case is not in the right place and does not correspond to the place where the strap lock is located on the guitar (lol).

- UNSTABLE! Even after several weeks, the guitar still detunes too quickly.

So let's be fair, because not everything is bad:

-At the level of the handle, it is very pleasant to play, nothing to complain about.

-The sound is good enough.

Far from being unplayable, nor even bad, I nevertheless think that it is a lot of details that are sloppy for a guitar whose price has increased by 40% (1120 euros today) and that the youtubers "pro" do not stop to praise. Caution.
