great sounding horn

26.10.2016
This horn looks and sounds terrific. It works best with commercial music and projects superbly cutting through a large big band with ease. The horn feels light and is VERY free blowing with an open leadpipe. Great upper register and easy response. This is a good lead horn if you can manage the open blow of this horn. You need good chops to play this all night.
The vintage lacquer on this horn is gorgeous and the deluxe case is great. My only criticism is you cant get all your mutes in the case. I couldn't get my bucket mute in....but lets face it ,it is hardly a deal breaker.

Impressive alternative

Roger P., 13.04.2013
I've become aware of this instrument because of the finish. Actually, I wanted to have a Raw Brass. This finish looks as if the trumpet was completely raw after filing the ridges. Or as if she were a hundred years old. This is a matter of taste. I liked it super. An absolutely new, also technically new instrument, which one does not look at it.
I immediately installed the heavycaps and so I like the sound better, from the look anyway.

In handling with the two rings it is habituationig, relatively tight. First you do not know where to go with your fingers.

The speech in the deep position and the first octave is sensationally good. The sounds instantly snap in and that very fast, absolutely precise.
From the G '' the resistance is noticeably greater than for example with my Yamaha LA or the Schilke B1. This is a disadvantage and costs approach for longer gigs.
Since the sound is fast thinner (it is very tightly built) but that is probably synonymous with my own limitation.
But if you have tightly built ML trumpets, you will find yourself in a class that is significantly more expensive with other brands.
The sound is very present, my fellow players in the jazz combo is immediately noticed that the trumpet sounds more open and more powerful, compared again with Yamaha LA or OLDs Super.
For the big band or for a brass orchestra, this can be a bit too much, so as not to stick out unpleasantly in the set.

The gig bag is functional, with backpacks, in the front pocket is also a Din A4 notepad pure, but no folder.
If a stand is in the suitcase, then goes a small straight and the plunger pure.

Amato water flaps, you have to say nothing, since everyone knows the disadvantages, others would prefer me.
