Nothing to complain about.

Johan1418, 24.12.2013
This is an amp-head best used for live performances on the bigger stages, but also performs well in the studio; the bigger the room is the better the sound you get.
The amp head gives you a lot of settings to choose between, including the Blackstar exclusive ISF-feature, 2 Overdrive modes and reverb (with dark and bright sound to choose between) to mention only a few. Including an effects-loop system adapted both for pedal-stompboxes and multi-effects, there's no denial that you can create a sound of your own. Also, there's no matter what kind of pickups your guitar has, both active and passive pickups fit well.

The sound quality is suberb; no matter how you try to set the sound on the panel, it doesn't lack tone and still sounds powerful. You can choose to play wathever music-genre you like, from Jazz, Country and Pop to the heaviest, most brutal Death-metal you can imagine.
The only thing to complain about here, is of course the same problem that all amp heads with this effect value (100 Watts) have: it doesn't sound very good at low volume level. However like I said, this is an amp head adapted mostly for live performances.

The price is very high of course, but I guarantee that Blackstar gives you what you pay for, not excluding the HT Stage 100 Venue Head from that list. An all-valve amp with 7 valves has it's price, but for the experienced guitarist; this should be an option to think about. I know, because I have used one of theese for a while now on different events; That's why you should buy one, in my opinion.

A powerful amp for all living conditions

Jonas900, 08.08.2013
I bought this amp as a successor for my broken (just 2 years old) "Buger 333" and must say that already the packaging reveals the difference in level. The amplifier is packaged in a bomb-proof package. Apart from the instructions and footboard + cable, the amplifier also has a loudspeaker cable, which is a nice gesture (even if it is not an exceptionally good cable).
The amplifier is very easy to connect, it has four outputs where for everyone is the right one. There is even an emulated output, whereby one can direct the amp directly for recording into the computer or connect it to the system ... the amplifier is very well equipped. If you want to play the amp now, it is only a matter of a few minutes until you have adjusted all three channels, because you can not make much mistakes: the Cleankanal sounds simple (with or without voice) super no matter how you set it , Which is then taste, but it is always beautifully warm, clear and has something of the delicate "little bell" as one knows it from Metallicas "Fade to Black".
The Rocksound (thus OD1) is true, as one could smoothly mean one from a Marshall bought. Depending on the ISF setting the Rocksound sounds rather smooth or crisply distorted, no matter how one decides badly it never sounds.
The Metalsound (also OD2) is in my opinion fantastic. The amplifier has good compression despite EL34 tubes and has a damn clean sound. Unlike my old Bugera, no note is swallowed or "washed out", it is all clear and with a neat print super present, comparable to the sound of "Five Finger Death Punch". However, the amp is not suitable for the ones who want a megadortortion sound to blow people's brain away, but you better buy a Randall or Engl, the Blckstar want something for the one metal sound that is honest and dynamic.

All in all, the amplifier is excellent, the only one that narrows the rating somewhat (but actually hardly interferes) is that OD1 and OD2 do not have an independent equalizer but only Gain, volume and Voice independently of each other regulate. I can only recommend this amplifier.
