From Russia - With a LOT of love
Just recieved this today and what can I not say about it.

Recently my band have went cabless, and getting tired of the "Palmer" sound, I decided to explore the avenue of IR sims, and boy was I glad I did!!!

Pros: Simplicity, it just works, when connected to your PC it acts like an external flash drive, so you can load up IR's into preset folders

LCD nice and bright, the I/O levels are a great feature, initially I had my signal a little too hot and could easily rectify just by looking at the VU meters.

Cons: MIDI, this unit REALLY needs MIDI, it would be a nice additional feature without buying the CP100fx (I have a G system, therefore is overkill for me) it would be nice to have the speaker sims change based on my patches.

Summary: It was a toss up between the Two Notes Torpedo cab and the AMT Pangaea, and im GLAD I picked the AMT, it has brought a whole new lease of life to my cabless sound.

To Russia, with a LOT of love, from Ireland, with a lot of new sounds!!!!

Thanks AMT, looking forward to reviewing the next revision of this unit (yes, that is me committing to buy another if you add MIDI)

Great device! But plan for a PSU.
This is a great device. The supplied impulse responses are excellent and will probably be all you need. I've added some additional responses found through AMT forums, but you might get better sounds from third parties.

I read this device was stereo, but so far every sound the device has passed through has been mono. So not sure how stereo comes into it.

The balanced output works well.

The power supply provided is Euro/US plug only. Being a "wall wart" type, it's not really safe for use with an adapter, so you're left with a choice of getting another PSU (12V 1A, which you might not have kicking around).

I took another option, which was to crack open the PSU, remove the mains input pins and retrofit an AC power cable to the neutral/live pads on the PCB. So it's now an in-line PSU rather than a wall wart. It works well, but you need to know what you're doing.

My other word of warning is around directional cables. I first used a Planet Waves directional cable and the noise hum was really bad. It took me a while to work out that the Pangaea doesn't "like" directional cables. So if you have weird electronic noises, then try reversing or swapping your cables.

That's it, otherwise, it's exactly what it says on the tin!
