Great Emulation

12.03.2015
This pedal is a great emulation of the classic Marshall sound. It's based on a JCM800 and as I haven't played with that exact model, I can't say how close it comes, but if you want that classic sound you can't go too wrong with this.

The sounds are great with almost any settings you try - it never sounds terrible. My only gripes with the sound is that the gain could go higher (I use an overdrive in front to get a really sweet saturated distortion). The other problem is that there is a fair amount of noise when running the pedal at full gain.

Having the three different outputs is where these get really interesting, allowing you to use it as a straight dirt box, preamp or direct out with cab sim. My personal preference is to use the preamp out to go into the AMT CN-1 Cab Sim pedal, where you can adjust the settings on the cab sim to get a really tailored sound.

Another minor gripe is that the AC power socket is on the side and this makes powering it with a daisy chain connector awkward as mine doesn't quite reach.

The only feature I think that it is missing is an FX Loop that could go between the poweramp stage and the built in cab sim.

An M1 with nice additional features

Thomas871, 24.09.2012
The company AMT is no longer an insider's tip. After all, the pedals from Omsk in Siberia have found a lot of fans around the world, including the JFet series consisting of various guitar preamps for the simulation of known amps. The M2 comes from the Legend-Amp series and takes care of the emulation of a Marshall JCM800.

If the previous JFet pedals like the M1 have a preamp-out for use in front of a guitar output stage or the effect return of an amp, as well as a CabSim-Out for recording or the direct connection with the mixing console, one has at the Legend Amps series still another output for the operation as a classic Tretmine before the amp input. All three outputs can also be used simultaneously.

In addition, all Legend Amp pedals now have a control for the clean level, since the pedal behaves like a two-channel preamp in front of power amp or mixer. The clean sound is to go in the direction of Fender, so I can judge correctly in the absence of an original but not, the Zerrsound of the M2 sounds however in any case neat and also after Marshall. It is bluish, pearly Hendrix-Crunch (SC at the neck, drive at 9-10 o'clock) as well as AC / DC or 80er heavyboard.

So, now for the rating:

How the thing works is in principle quite fast, however, one could have the pedal a corresponding supplement with reference to the Cleanchannel can be, possibly also with a few exampleettings, therefore, there is a point deduction in operation.

The features for a pedal are also very rich in the face of the price, I would not know what you should still reinpacken, therefore full score.

The sound is really good before the amp as well as during the recording. In contrast to digital modelers have here thanks to analog circuitry no latencies and a mE better dynamics. To a real Marshall the pedal is not quite ran, which gives a point deduction at the sound. The CabSim-Out is a real alternative to impulses or software speakers.

The device is very robust. Even if I operate it exclusively by power supply, I would have the access to the battery compartment differently solved. Here you have to loosen two cross-head screws and remove the ground. This does not change the processing quality, so again full points.

Overall, I am very satisfied with what the guys have screwed together and therefore the M2 can stay with me ;-)
