My go to mallets for years

There have been my go to general mallets for playing the xylophone. Good sound and feel but they get worn out a bit quickly.. I had a mallet that had the outer layer of the rattan starting to split in two after just two months of playing.. The wood on the head of the mallets seems a bit different from the last time I bought a pair, but the sound is similar. The wood is not as dark as the last time, and doesn't have as smooth of a surface.

XB-10 used to be my favorite xylo stick, but it seems that the quality has deteriorated over time.
The mallet heads of the last pair I received look lighter in color, somehow a bit rougher/less polished and also sound thinner than my older models. Nevertheless, they are decent mallets, especially for that price.

Kann diese Schlägel sehr empfehlen - vor allem auf österreichischen Universitäten und von Orchestern in Österreich werden überwiegen Playwood XB - 10 verwendet.

Das einzige negative ist, dass die Schlägel eine kurze Lebensdauer - je nach Spielweise - haben.

Für mich persönlich ist jedoch die Klangqualität am wichtigsten. Darum gibt es für mich für die XB - 10 keine bessere Alternative.

Un très bon son mais une durée limitée

Le manche est de bonne facture, fait de rotin, la paire est bien égale est droite. La longueur est assez courte mais pas trop, pour avoir une frappe légère et précise.
Le noyau en ébène sonne incroyablement bien, avec une belle attaque et une belle rondeur, la taille assez petite garantit un timbre léger, mais le bois dense permet un son chaud et jamais aigre.
Le seul point négatif est la durée de vie limitée, car après peu de temps, le bois se fissure et quelques "copeaux" se détachent, détruisant l'égalité du son.
Je conseille cependant vivement, pour le rapport qualité/prix, mais peut-être vaut-il mieux avoir une autre paire pour le travail à la maison et une paire de XB-10 pour les concerts.
