Decent Stereo Bar
Anonim 26.10.2016
I ordered this bar in order to mic amps with multiple mics without having a lot of stands around.
It works well, for the price it's fine I didn't noticed any problem also doing standard stereo stuff (xy and spaced pair). Everything is sturdy and looks quite durable, since in fact is a piece of metal with a pair of screws, and feels good.
It is very useful, as i mentioned before, you can use two mics and if they are close to each other you dont need a second stand, so it is also useful if you don't have a lot of space or you dont want to carry around tons of stuff.
The only thing i am a little disappointed with, although it is not a surprise, is that it comes without any adapter for the screws, and the middle hole is the narrow one. It is not so important, but maybe have the big hole is better, since I dont't see often bi to small adapters.
It also didnt come with adapters for the clips and/or shockmounts so if you need you have to get them from somewhere else.
Anyway for the price works just fine and it is very useful.

A strong holding

Very well working bar to hold your mics strongly. I use this to support a gooseneck in the studio and it is strong enough for that.

Easy to install and works as it is supposed to

i bought this stereo bar for use in a studio for stereo micking of Overheads and Acoustic guitar as well, and sometimes stereo room in ORTF. It was the cheapest one on Thomann.DE and on the internet stores that i can find. It does the job perfectly and just as well as any of the other more expensive models would. You don't get the angle markings on the Adam Hall Stereo Bar as on Rodes one but in different price tag. Rode stereo bar is also made from plastic. What is most important this Adam Hall SDMSB 190 Stereo Bar is very hard and not get loose over the session, don't know haw it will handle in live situation but for studio session - look no further. Easy to install and works as it is supposed to. I doubt more expensive stereo bars are much better than this. Easy to install and works as it is supposed to.

Cheap and Effective
Anonim 31.03.2016
I wanted a stereo bar for a long time; but it was one of those things that I just kept putting off. I had seen the prices of some of the leading-name brands and decided I would take a chance on something simpler. I am pleased I have bought one because it reduces setup time (one fewer stand) and "creates" space, particularly when recording drums.

You don't get the angle markings on the Adam Hall Stereo Bar but that should not worry you, if you already have some experience of setting up stereo pairs. X-Y and ORTF are a cinch with this device. If you haven't done any stereo miking, there are plenty of videos available on the internet to help you.

The screws seem okay; they probably wouldn't stand up to being gigged every night for ten years, but my needs are smaller.

I often only use one overhead microphone on gigs, for my drummer, and most times we have a proper soundman anyway; so whether it's sturdy enough to stand up to being gigged doesn't apply to me. I bought this for my home-recording setup and I believe that it is more-than up to the task.

I think the theory is that mics in stereo should be matched pairs; but I'd suggest you go with your ears, not theory, if you do not have a matched pair; however, I would recommend using a pair of the same type.

If you record and you want to mike up in stereo, buy this; it's cheap and it does a decent job. Mine lives in my Thon mic case, which my wife bought me for Christmas.
