Yamaha YRS-20 GB Soprano Recorder

I've learnt to play recorder as a child about twenty years ago. My parents bought a few cheap and more expensive wooden beginner flutes. None of them were able to keep up with this plastic recorder and all of them were more expensive. The sound of this recorder surely can't compete with one of the more expensive wooden recorders. But it beats every single wooden beginner recorder, which I have gotten my hands on.

The color was the thing, which my husband liked to much, that he had bought this recorder. It's not only fun for kids.


Quality:
The quality is good. Every piece fits together and nothing is to loose or to tight. No sharp edges or other material failures. The recorder is solid and easy cleanable if you want. There are no pieces, which could soak up water and no glue or cork, which could get damaged. The foot is adjustable and fits in the best position for your pinky. You also get a double hole for c# and d#.


Sound and Response:
The sound is quite nice. It sounds like a recorder should sound. It's warmer and brighter then I expected it to be. The response is good, even in the higher octave. It's hard to accidentally overblow in the lower octave.


If you play this recorder, you will see the moisture inside. But that doesn't do anything with the sound. It just looks a bit weird to me, maybe because I'm used to wooden instruments. You can easily shake, wipe or blow the moisture out.

I'm satisfied with this recorder and would by it a second time. It's such a low price for a good quality and a decent sound. Nice beginner instrument.

Wir setzen die Yamahaflöten in der Schule ein und haben bisher gute Erfahrungen gemacht. Die Schüler sind vor allem von den Farben begeistert, was ide Motivation sich mit dem Instrument auseinanderzusetzen deutlich erhöht hat.

Das Instrument ist für Anfänger gut zu spielen, spieltechnische Probleme traten bisher bei uns in den Klassen nicht auf. Die Flöte spricht leicht an, wobei die Gefahr des Überblasens in den tiefen Lagen gering ist. In den oberen Lagen gelingtdas Überblasen aber leicht und die hohen Töne sprechen gut an .

Die Flöte klingt für eine Kunststoffflöte klar und rund. In den tiefen Lagen wie in den hohen Lagen bietet die Flöte Gestaltungsspielräume, was bei vergleichbaren Flöten in der Preiskategorie selten der Fall ist.

Als Grungschullehrerin bestelle ich jedes Schuljahr für meine neuen Schüler der ersten Klassen bei Thomann die Blockflöten für den Musikunterricht. Seit zwei Jahren wähle ich nun schon die transparenten Blockflöten von Yamaha aus.

Nicht nur ich als unterrichtende Lehrerin, sondern auch die Kinder sind von den Flöten begeistert. Die Farben sind prima, die Verarbeitung ist vorbildlich und der Preis stimmt für meine kleinen Flötenanfänger. Auch das optische Bild ist sehr ansprechend, wenn ca. 20 Flöten zugleich bespielt werden. Es macht allen Spaß, mit diesen Flöten zu arbeiten. Die Pflege ist auch kinderleicht. Prima!

Auch in den kommenden Jahren werde ich diese Flöten bestellen.
