Usei este amplificador desde palcos pequenos (salas mínimas) como em palcos grandes (festivais/salas de concertos/etc), sempre satisfez as minhas necessidades e por vezes até superava as mesmas.

Este amplificador é deveras versátil, vai desde um clean quente, dado a ser valvulado, a uma distorção rasgada pretendida em vários estilos musicais. Portanto a versatilidade apresentada por este amplificador é excelente. a existência de dois canais distintos é óptimo que assim é possível conjugar um clean e uma distorção (por exemplo) em dois canais distintos e com um simples footswitch (vendido separadamente) alternar entre os dois.
O facto de este amplificador já trazer o seu próprio saco de transporte é uma vantagem, apesar de ser saco e não case, mas o mesmo é bem acolchoado e protector.

Não se deixem enganar pelo tamanho do amplificador, parece ser uma pequena coisa mas afinal é uma grande surpresa. A qualidade da construcção, a sonoridade que proporciona, a versatilidade leva-me a considerar um dos meus amplificadores de eleição.

A primeira impressão que eu tinha deste amplificador era boa, mas superou em muito as minhas expectativas! O som é bastante equilibrado e versátil tanto para cleans como distorção, a distorção é bem crunch um pouco vintage talvez, para quem gosta de hard, rock, punk, blues ou mesmo pop não irá ficar desiludido com este amplificador.

Ele deve ser tocado bem alto a sua qualidade de som melhora assim que o saturamos e aumentamos o volume, irá soar melhor em full e com as 4 válvulas em funcionamento. Aconselhável usar ppc2x12, mas com uma coluna ppc1x12 irá soar bem igualmente.

- fat channel tem um som mais cheio e robusto, optimo para quem toca leads e coisas mais pesadas,

- tiny terror channel tem uma sonoridade mais clara, bom para cleans.

O botão de tom é o suficiente, na minha opinião não é necessário eq neste amplificador, ele soa muito bem com qualquer guitarra.

A única coisa de negativo neste amplificador é não tem loop de efeitos, nem pedal de switch.

Less is definitely more

I had considered some other Orange heads (OR15 and Dark Terror in particular) but decided to go for this one since it's more of an all-rounder. It didn't disappoint.

First off, it's important to state that this amp is not a total gain monster, but what it IS built for is tone. It does have enough gain on tap for a heavy rock sound, but for a really high-gain sound, a boost or OD pedal is probably needed (I've used mine with a Maxon OD808, TC Electronic Spark, Boss SD-1 and MXR MC401 in the studio, with satisfying results every time).

That being said, the basic sound of both channels is really good, the tone control on each channel is very versatile and allows a whole range of tonal variation. from rich cleans through to filthy overdrive; because it isn't voiced with a thousand dials, its response and signal path are very direct, it feels very organic to play, and it responds very well to pedals, which means any fine-tuning is easy once you find the basic sound you want.

It's also easy to maintain, changing the valves/tubes is quick and simple because it's self-biasing, and obviously it's mega-portable.

All in all, this is a good, versatile amp that is idiot-proof to use and gives "that" Orange sound, and can easily do what the more "specialized" Orange amps do, if combined with the right pedals. I would definitely recommend it.

Amazing little amp with big sound!

I wanted to get a tiny terror, but i needed two channels so i can have a clean and a dirty channel for live use. I like smaller amps like 25-30 watts, because you can push them to the limits while recording and live without busting your hearing. Don't get me wrong its a loud amplifier and has plenty of great features like a switch to 15 watts, as well as the ability to go from four to two valves. All this makes a great difference to the sound. The only issue i've had with this amp is the absence of an fx loop. Either than that it delivers a great clean, crunch and distortion tone. It's not a very high gain amplifier, but you can always boost it with an overdrive pedal, but then again its not meant to be a metal amp. Its perfect for gigs, because its easy to carry and great for recording. I highly recommend it!
