Thomann Europe Soprano Ukulele

Il rapporto qualità prezzo è davvero notevole: lo strumento
è fatto in Europa con dei bei legni (tavola in abete massello), e finito molto bene e fa anche un buon profumo di vero legno (mi piacerebbe provare un paio di chitarre fatte da questo produttore...).
Avevo già provato ukulele economici, trovandoli strumenti divertenti ma molto problematici per l'intonazione. Questo invece è intonatissimo e quindi, oltre ad essere un oggettino bello e divertente è un vero strumento musicale. Sono molto soddisfatto.

I don't know how Thomann can make such an incredible ukulele for the price.

All the woods are solid, no veneer here! The grain of the spruce is straight, not the tightest grain, but for this price, I can't complain. It is a very pretty uke - the rosette is quite contemporary and well designed. The workmanship is spot on, no glue blobs in the interior. All the joints seem well made.

The neck is very smooth under the fingers and the finish is a beautiful satin.

What sets this ukulele apart from other ukuleles of this price-range and cheaper is its ability to tune easily and to stay in tune. The tuners are the usual closed gear you'd find on a guitar, not friction, and are very smooth.

The sound is very loud and surprisingly balanced. It is not harsh and shrill as is the case with most ukuleles at this price point, it is actually quite warm and full. I advise all my students to buy it.

I would recommend this instrument to anybody taking up the ukulele for the first time or to a seasoned pro who needs a decent sounding uke to play in a band setup. It also sounds fantastic amplified through a mic.

Für den Preis ist die Ukulele eigentlich absolut in Ordnung.

Allerdings war meine direkt aus der Schachtel so nicht gleich spielbar (dazu weiter unten).

Positiv ist aber einmal die Verarbeitung des Holzes, da passt eigentlich fast alles. Einzig ein paar kleine Unsauberkeiten auf der Halsrückseite, aber die stören nicht wirklich.

Das Griffbrett macht auch einen guten Eindruck. Bei meinem sind Markierungen auf den Bünden 3,5,7 und 10. (Am Bild im Onlineshop sieht das allerdings anders aus, dort sind die Markierung bei 5,7,10,12 und 15.)

Die Mechaniken sind Durchschnitt, machen aber zumindest einen besseren Eindruck, als die von einer 30-Euro-Ukulele. Und am Bild im Onlineshop sind die Mechaniken mit Metallknöpfen abgebildet - bei meiner sind es hingegen weiße Kunststoffknöpfe.

Negativ hingegen ist die Stegeinlage - die war einerseits viel zu hoch und noch dazu so schief zugeschliffen, dass sie auf einer Seite (bei der G-Saite) rund 1,5 mm höher war als auf der anderen. (Das lässt sich mit etwas Geduld und Schmirgelpapier aber korrigieren.)

Die Bundreinheit ist bei niedriger Saitenlage ganz o.k. - wenn man sich die Arbeit macht, eine kompensierte Stegeinlage anzufertigen, dann passt das auch mit der C-Saite.

Und die Saiten, naja - das sollen laut beigelegtem Zettelchen Supernylgut-Saiten sein, allerdings hat da im Werk offenbar jemand die einzelnen Saiten verwechselt - die E-Saite hatte die gleiche Stärke wie die G-Saite, dadurch hatte die E-Saite deutlich weniger Spannung als die restlichen Saiten.

Alles in allem also durchaus empfehlenswert, mit der Einschränkung, dass man (die Stegeinlage) evtl. ein bisschen nacharbeiten muss und besser gleich neue Saiten aufspannt.
