This one is not like the others
First of all, the product picture is misleading. Do not expect the feel of a typical Sommer Cable. The outher insulation feels like plastic and it is definitely not smooth as the picture suggents.
None of this would be an issue if it would have been properly communicated, but it wasn't.
If you want to use this cable for wiring up something and then not touching it again then it can work but if it needs to be dragged and moved all the time then go for something else.

Great internal patch cable, at a good price
This Sommer Cable SC-Onyx 2008, is a reasonably good quality twin core figure of eight screened audio cable. It appears to be designed for use on internal patchbay connection wiring duties , or for very light home use, such as making up bespoke headphone extensions or other general home or home studio audio patch cable type duties. It is not heavy enough to use within an open stage or road environment in my humble opinion. But more than adequate for stage or studio use on internal equipment wiring where it’s never exposed to the outside world.
Each core is very easy to strip down to the copper, it tins very easily and solders very well. Each core is in addition individually screened and also colour coded (red and yellow) for ease of use. Once in use it’s relatively low noise even in high gain areas and doesn’t kink or twist easily, basically it does exactly what you would expect a cable like this to do, at a very reasonable price.

Something isn't right
I can't recommend this cable. The plastic jacket looks like it was extruded through a jagged die full of teeth which left scratch marks all over it, and the printing appears like it was left out in the rain before drying. Luckily, I only bought a meter for special breakout-wiring I was going to do, but I'm not using this after all because... even though it might be OK functionally, it just feels wrong. FYI, the thicker SC Onyx 2025 does not have this problem.

avoid unless you need the smallest cable possible
not very flexible, inner conductor is very thin ,tho doesnt break easily during stripping like cheaper cable.
the outer shield is rough looking, text is barely readable but thats just a cosmetic issue.
2025 is a little bigger but much better.

Great product
Does the job nicely. I used it to make a 10m patch lead from my fx unit to my amp. Really solid cable. Also made a patch cable to go from an external pedal to my fx unit. Works a treat

Good quality cable. I use it for creating 3.5mm jack extension cables. It is not extremely flexible, but ok overall.
