Quite practical to use, sound ok enough considering the price but the power is week and the ground buzz of this pickup is far too loud to use a preamp for more volume/power. I used it for a while but got tired of the buzz. Now it´s far too late to return it.
I might use thispickup every now and then when playing in a noisy pub where nobody will notice the buzz but otherwise I can´t really use it.
Bought this one because I used to have a similar Shadow years back but the buzz was not there then.

Bad sound

The sound is ok but there is alot of buzz from it. The wire is very flimsy and if it bends to much it becomes like an iphone charger you need to have it in a certain position to get any use of it. In total its ok for the price but if you need one for long term and gigging then this isnt the one for you. But if your a beginner playing your accoustic through a pedal its not bad.

I carry this unit as a spare. It doesn't require batteries and the lead is long enough for most occasions. I've lent it to other players at open mic nights so its been used on a variety of guitars from OMs to Dreadnoughts both 6 and 12 string. Never any complaints about the sound quality.

SHADOW SH 330 - Guter Sound für wenig Geld

Den Shadow SH 330 habe ich hier bei Thomann aus dem Grund bestellt, dass ich einen einfachen Tonabnehmer für meine Ashton Westerngitarre brauchte. Letztendlich ist meine Wahl auf diesen hier gefallen, da ich schon länger Shadow Pickups nutze und bisher noch nicht enttäuscht wurde.

Zum Tonabnehmer selbst:
Hier handelt es sich um einen Tonabnehmer der zur Gattung der Schalllochtonabnehmer gehört, heißt im Klartext: Saiten lockern, rein ins Schallloch, anstöpseln und los gehts. Schön finde ich, dass die Stellen an welchen der Tonabnehmer Kontakt mit den Rändern des Schalllochs hat, mit Schaumstoff ausgestattet ist. Das verhindert einerseits ein Rattern durch die Schwingungen der Decke, andererseits auch Kratzer im Finish. Das Kabel ist an diesem hier fest angebracht, wirkt aber relativ stabil befestigt und sollte die nächsten Jahre ohne Probleme überstehen.

Zum Sound:
Der Sound ist wie beschrieben (trotz Single Coil) völlig Hum Free. Ich habe den SH 330 mit einem Line6 TonePort GX, einem Line6 Spider III 15 und einem BOSS BR-900 CD getestet und überall war der Sound top.

Fazit:
Empfehlenswert für alle Einsteiger die Ihre Westernklampfe ein wenig aufmotzen wollen, damit auch mal verstärkt werden, bzw. ohne Mikrofon aufgenommen werden kann. Netter Nebeneffekt der guten Passform: der Pickup ist im Schallloch drehbar, sodass man noch mit den Höhen und Tiefen des Sounds probieren kann.
