Pantera sound with a twist.

Great pickups. The Dimebucker is high output and on clean it has quite a lot of treble. But on distortion with the right settings it can give you that pantera sound. The neck pickup is quite sweet and smooth. I put this set on a Dime camo. Power wise the stock pickups (DMT) are not far behind this kit but the kit is more defined. It fitted without problems. The twist bit in the title: I was surprised how good they sounded as split/parallel so I rewired them and now have split coils on both and reverse phase on neck option. I do realise that in that guitar you would not necessarily need split coils...etc but I like to have the option as it is 4 wire pickups. Overall, great pickups.

Le principal attrait de ce set reprenant l'une des configs de Dimebag Darrell réside surtout dans le SH-13, le fameux Dimebucker. Nous avons là un micro chevalet tranchant et ardent. Une réserve de gain qui n'a rien à envier à un actif ou même un D-Activator, avec les qualités d'ouverture propres aux micros passifs. Aussi à l'aise avec tous les types de son, son articulation est parfaite, capable de retranscrire la finesse de jeu peu importe le gain envoyé. Testé sur du GUNS N'ROSES et du AMON AMARTH, il est redoutable, une version modernisée du SH/TB 4. Quant au '59, inutile de le présenter, sa réputation n'est plus à faire, sa rondeur me rend chantant pour les leads et les crunchs, même si je dirais qu'en termes de couleur, la transition avec le Dimebucker est un peu raide, l'homogénéité n'étant pas la principale qualité de ce set.

Ich habe diese PUs gekauft, um möglichst nahe an Pantera heranzukommen. Solar S2.6 und diese PUs sind dazu super.

Die Verarbeitung ist spitze und der Umbau war sehr einfach.
Das Zebra-Modul ist optisch nicht ganz mein Fall, wohingegen das andere Modul für die Bridge einiges hermacht. Wie ich finde die optisch schönsten Humbucker auf dem Markt.

Der Sound ist derbe und es gibt kein Rauschen (Solar S2.6, Engl Savage 120 MK II, Engl 412 Retro Cab, Boss GT100)

Sowohl heavy distortion, als auch clean klingen super.
Ich kann keine negativen Punkte feststellen. Der Preis mehr als fair. Man erhält gute PUs, an denen man viel Freude hat.
