I've used PS3 snare heads for years now because they produce that Loud, Shotgun sound, ideal for Heavy Rock.
The CS Dot give a slight bit of welcome dampening & prolongs the life of the head.

Um keine Missverständnisse aufkommen zu lassen: Das PS 3 ist mein absolutes Lieblings - Snare Fell für Rock und andere härtere Sachen! Aber bitte nicht nochmal mit Dot! Denn dieser macht den Sound leider ganz schön futsch! Der Klang wird total flach und matschig und außerhalb des Dots extrem hell und obertonreich!

Beim PS 3 ohne Dot gibt es hierbei vom Center zum Rand einen stufenlosen sehr schönen Übergang - für einen Pressroll unverzichtbar! Beim PS 3 m. Dot ist dieser Übergang - ich würde mal sagen - Digital!
Und das Argument der längeren Haltbarkeit kann ich auch nicht wirklich nachvollziehen. Ein Snarefell ist bei mir nach 3 - 4 Monaten durch, egal ob mit oder ohne Dot! Damit muss man leben!

Fazit: Bitte unbedingt vorher ausprobieren! Meine Meinung: Powerstroke 3 - Hui! Mit Dot - Pfui!
