Yes, there is really a hand selected 12AX7 vacuum tube in the t-47! For all of those who don’t want to believe it, Behringer has especially built a little window into the housing through which you can see the tube glowing. The budget orientated sound engineer rather trusts his ears though and their ears can also verify the classic warm tube sound of the Behringer T-47. Characteristically for the tube circuitry the microphone reacts not so sensitively to low level ambient noise but nevertheless offers highest attention to detail. The preset cardioid pickup pattern which is used for most recording situations prevents background noise from the back and from the sides.
The Behringer T-47 is the ideal microphone for vocals, but it is also applicable as a good main and spot microphone for acoustic instruments. A switchable high-pass filter averts walking noises.
The Behringer T-47 can be directly connected to every audio interface or mixing desk via the included power supply. There is no need for phantom power as normally required for large diaphragm tube condenser microphones.
