Great pedal

For the price, this is an amazing pedal. It definitely takes a little tweaking but once you get the right settings it's amazing. My band have been amazed by the sound from such a cheap pedal.
A downside is that it's a little noisy. Even with a noise suppressor it makes a fair bit of noise when you stop playing but for a cheap pedal that is to be expected.
The tracking on the octave setting is really quite good, definitely stands up to the competition which I may add is a lot more expensive.
A word of caution, before you try and use this open the pedal up and take out the rubber part from the top of the lid and put it in the metal part that switches the pedal on. I spent a fair while trying to figure out why it wouldn't turn on before I realised.
Anyway, a great pedal for the money which I will definitely be using in my band. Great synth tones.

great value pedal.

It has a ton of features, I myself just wanted it for the subsynth octaver.
Tracking is excellent , really fast, very very little latency.
I cant say much more cos at home it works great,I get the sound I want, but I still have to tweak it to get a managable live sound : its a bit too loud compared to my normal signal, so I tend to take a gamble before using it lowering my bass volume on the go, so it's 2 bad it has not got a level function.

Not my thing...

Don't get me wrong: I love weird sounds! But this pedal is just too uncontrolable for my taste. Maybe my pedal was deffective (and I can't tell because I've never tried another one...) but I couldn't get a way to get a predictable envelope sweeping. No matter how little I would set de sensitivity, the sweeping always seemed too random. You can have a lot of fun jaming with this pedal, but when it comes to setting sounds to a song, it's not that reliable.

Positive - It's well built, and fits any small pedalboard. Simple to figure the controls. Very clever battery compartment access, easier than those from BOSS pedals.

Negative - It's not easy to get a good controlable sound out of this box.

Digitech Mastery at it's best

Digitech have done it again. I have long been a fan of Digitech and their products already having Digitech Grunge and having used the Whammy IV in the past so I was no stranger to their unequaled quality.
I really cant praise this pedal enough, the range of sounds it contains (ranging from a classic early funk era auto wah to space age envelope filters and synth bass reminiscent of the chemical brothers) and for the price are a bargain and a half, which i'd recommend to any bass player looking to jazz up their sound.
As well as that, for any musicians looking for a sound similar to that of British big beat groups; early Prodigy material such as Music for the jilted generation or the aforementioned Chemical brothers (most notably Push the button or the soundtrack to 2011 movie Hanna), Crystal method, Fatboy Slim etc.
the only negative point if any at all about this pedal is it's dependency on multiple inputs.
The pedal has 2 outputs, one following the effect signal and one true bypass dry untouched signal which balances the natural bass tone. This requires the bass amp to either have 2 inputs or for the user to own 2 amps or a multiple input DI box as well to accommodate the 2 signals.
The fact that when in the off position, the effect signal cuts out completely leaving just the clean signal prevents the user from bypassing the need for 2 signals.
Perhaps a useful adjustment to the pedal or future models would be to make the effect signal true bypass and not a kill switch.
Altogether, This is one of the best pedals I've ever used for it's versatility and reliability. I tend to use it quite a lot, if anything it could be the second most used pedal in my complete setup as it finds a place in any synthesized bass driven songs and that could mean anything from early funk to RnB, big beat and even progressive rock.
A clear 9/10 from me.
