Although I have some great classic and vintage BOSS original effects contained in my 'BOUTIQUE CUSTOMISED' upgraded BOSS ME-5 (details at http://boss- pedals.jimdo.com) that give Flanging and Leslie effects, I realised that I did not actually have a dedicated VIBE pedal in my arsenal. I fancied something that could emulate that classic sound that was pioneered on vinyl by Hendrix and carried on by Robin Trower, Between them, they both OWN this sound!
So I set out to look for something that I could add and of course did the usual Youtube and forums trawl and came to the conclusion that as this is not a Hi-Fi type sound (indeed it benefits from masses of added overdrive), that the results that showed up for the Cool Cat Vibe stood up well. Also, having had great success with the Cool Cat Transparent Dive, I decided to add the Vibe to my next Thomann inventory. The price was extremely competitive too.
It is solid and delightfully seafoam green(!) and indeed does the classic Vibe vibe! Many commentators bemoan a slight signal boost and split second delay when the switch is engaged, but this is splitting hairs and anyway, the slight signal boost adds to the effect in my book.
I also love the sound of this pedal in a more demure setting too, when coupled with my Fender '73 Strat and a Vibrolux setting on my Fender Supersonic 60. The SS60's massive cabinet and long spring reverb and a touch of Cool Cat Vibe is like a time machine back to 1967 and all the wackiness that ensued.
So, if you want a touch of Hendrix and Trower and even some David Gilmour/Pink Floyd classic tone then this is definitely one to consider. 10/10 from me!

The housing is made of very robust cast . The regulators are made of plastic , very grippy. The pots can be easily and smoothly rotate . The sockets are made ??entirely of metal. The battery compartment can be reached easily in the bottom panel. The workmanship is overall awesome. For Sound: Who does not know the vibe effect of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan ? This device is a replica of the Uni-Vibe and comes in my opinion, very close. There are three controller: Mix , Speed ??, Intensity . Mix acts on the EQ of the VibeEffekts . Speed ??controls the speed of the Vibes . Intensity controls the amount of effect on the overall signal. The disadvantage here is that when the effect is switched on the level increases a bit which cannot be regulated . That's why one star less for the missing Level Knob and thus greater coordination effort with other effects. A great advantage of the Vibe is that it has a real true bypass . When the unit is off, the signal is looped through a hardwire connection. Highs losses are minimized. All in all, the pedal is a VERY cheap alternative to the real Uni-Vibe . In live mode , I would honestly do not hear the difference .
