Ideal speakers to start with.
Price: It is the best set of speakers one can get at that price range.
Features: They work best in a small room that where resonation is liminal. The switches behind the speaker allow one to adjust control room and high trim which are very useful for calibrating the speakers to the room.
The volume knobs behind the speakers are very useful too. The speaker can go very loud and I usually keep the volume knobs under +4dB and control the volume trough my audio interface. To not damage the speakers and avoid pops or clicks when turning the speakers on, turn them on after opening your interface.
Sound: The sound is good for mid-high range frequencies and can go quite low. Do not expect a Genelec level to bump clean low-frequency levels with a lot of dynamics. But the overall sound quality is fair for the price.
Quality: I have them for almost a year and they still perform very good. Had no issue at all. I produce different styles of music and they perform best for tracks that do not require high-end sound design, orchestral compositions or low (27-40Hz) bass dynamics.
Extra: The led light on the speaker is aesthetically pleasing when the lights of the studio are dimmed.

Not Bad
Good sounding monitors for a rock n roll studio. Quite a size.
The similar priced Dynaudio sounded a litter nicer, so I ended up buying them instead.

I believe the best price -quality ratio on the market ,the bass need to adjust if they re palying at sohrtes spaces ,the middles are correct and the highs cleans.

Big experience!
These monitors shocked me when I unpacked them. They are quite big and also deliver a big experience! The low end is really good, and the highs are crispy. The mids seem a tad scooped, but maybe that's because I come from a mid heavy set of speakers previous to these ones. All in all, I am happy with my purchase and Yamaha once again shows they know what they're doing.
I just have to get my monitors calibrated for this room before I start mixing.

Very Good!
These monitor speakers are definitely good. In my opinion (and experience) Yamaha rarely throw anything on the market which is not good at all. This speaker may not be the best on the market but definitely not a bad choice for the price rage. It does lack that detail which you can get from a speaker that costs 3 times as much but still it is good enough to work with. I do believe however that you need at least 3 pair of speakers to determine recording. This may be one of the three pairs!

I was amazed by this monitors
It is not NS10M. Don't expect them sound alike. But for me, they were definitely better than KRK Rokit 8.

just magic
Great Studio reference speaker but that extra bit of punch, depending on the type of music your mixing I feel they could do with the addition low end. These Monitors are well build and certainly wont move.

Best cheap monitor
I changed a lot of monitors over the years, along with the classic ones like Adam A7, Genelec 8040, etc, and a few years ago i ended up using the hs80m's and I was the happiest producer, as the translation was stunning. I eventually got the hs8's and after afew months of use, i believe they are 95% the same, which is good if you like that sound.
Highly recommended for the price and probably the best monitor till 700-800$ (set)
