The over all build quality is ok. the handles havent been a problem yet but i think they will be the first part to give way. the case itsself bends a little so the covers need to be pushed into place before locking. i dont mind this very much because it is a very light fight case and you cant have everything. the major issue with this is the use of non standard rack bolts. i belive they are M5 and the standard is M6 which means you need specific bolts for this case. this may or may not be an issue depending on the amount of racking and unracking you do. I was not supplied with enough bolts to rack all my equiptment. and had to be sent addition one for free from thomann.
Many people assume that shop branded items are not as good as other well known brands...well i did before i tried this. Thomann never let me down, and with this they exceeded my expectations as the price was so cheap. In my opinion this is one of the best racks I've owned. Has a huge amount of space inside to house the power cables and any leads leading into the interfaces. It has 2 butterfly locks on each door (front and back) that are very sturdy. Two handles are very solid moulding into the overall unit which is very hard to dent of scratch. Absolute must buy if your looking to get a rack unit.
Great little low cost solution for the travelling musician or engineer. I'm using one of these for my mobile recording set up with my interface, headphone preamp and patch bay, it's really handy. My only complaint is that the unit was built a little lop sided meaning there is a slight gap towards the top and bottom at either end however that's purely cosmetic and doesn't affect the performance.
Im using this for a bass amp and some outboard gear and it seems fine, decent construction, rack strips front and rear so you can have a powerstrip in the back if you wish. I'm not sure how it would cope with a heavy power amp in it but for what im using it for and the modest purchase price I'm very happy. The inclusion of a zipped pocket in the rear cover for cables etc is a nice touch.
