|Handpicked Gibson Guitars!|
Thomann’s Custom Shop team has collaborated with the master craftsmen at Gibson to come up with some highly exclusive guitars. And they’ve just arrived!Exclusive Gibson Special Editions now available
As Europe’s biggest Gibson dealer, we’ve got some pretty good connections to the folks at Gibson in Nashville, Tennessee. They’ve been building exclusive special editions for us for a few years now, with these very special instruments delivered to us directly from the world-renowned Gibson Custom Shop.
A visit to guitar heaven! We sent two very lucky lads, Andy and Olli, two members of our Custom Shop team, over to Gibson to design some exclusive guitars with the craftsmen there for the European market. Andy and Olli knew full well that it wouldn’t be enough, say, to just come back with yet another slight variation on the classic Les Paul; they’d have to do a lot better. After all, the feedback and ideas of Thomann’s Custom Shop customers were to be incorporated directly into the design.
"We go over to Nashville several times a year to select the best woods for the guitar tops, and pick out the lightest bodies available," says Andy. "That allows us to come up with exclusive guitar models that satisfy the most demanding customers, and that reflect exactly what our customers want." To give you an impression of how this works, here are a couple of snaps of the last time our guys went over:
We looked though a whole pile of maple tops to find the best ones, then put them aside for later.
Andy from the Custom Shop team is happy with how things are going. Then Gibson’s master guitar builders set to work using the pickups and wiring we’ve selected.
Three of the little beauties ready to ship out.
The first shipment has just arrived! Our team created a detailed spec for these instruments, including woods, paint finish, electronics and the hardware components. And we can guarantee the exclusivity of these models, many of which are available only in very limited numbers; some are unique, one-off pieces. And in Europe, they’re only available through Thomann. So don’t dawdle, because once they’re gone, they’re gone for good.
What does BOTB stand for?
Beauty Of The Burst is a very important book for anyone who’s serious about Les Paul guitars. This work includes photos of the legendary models from the years ‘58, ‘59 and ‘60. It’s also a valuable yardstick for current guitar models, setting the standards for the guitars’ physical dimensions and paint finishes, including some of our very own handpicked models.
