Bought this for my son, but I have also tried it myself. The build quality have some plastic parts, but for the price, the bulid quality is good. I don't see it breaking with normal use. Sound wise, there is some background noise, and the samples aren't that good, so I wouldn't use the analog sound for recordings, but for practice and maybe even for small, non-prestigeous gigs, I guess it is useable.
This edrum is very loud (considering it's meant to be an electric drum kit). This is probably due to the cheap plastics and poor quality build. I've seen this drum kit elsewhere (it seems to be one of those unbranded items which are bought by companies, who then brand them with their own logo). It works best with a drum software (like EZdrummer) but the preset sounds aren't that bad (even if they sound nothing like actual drums). The tom pads are the best part, as the snare drum is too flat (no bounce), the hi-hat pedal gets stuck, the cymbals are loud and pretty awful and the kick drum, unlike the snare drum is too bouncy (it double hits every time you hit it).
Some positivies; The drum kit does support 'audio in' so you can plug in and play any audio player with a 3.5mm jack socket. Another positive is that it folds away nice and neatly to save space.
Overall I wouldn't recommend, however if you are on a tight budget and you've seen this drum kit elsewhere, I would suggest you buy this one.
this is a very impressive kit with superb sounds inside and a fairly sturdy build quality. keeping all the cabling tidied within the structure also keeps it neat and much easier to move, an all round gem of a bargain for the price ! the pedals are fairly tough but i would'nt imagine them to last under heavy playing for long although they feel pretty good and have enough adjustment. the kick pad is pretty solid and with it's spikes extended you have a solid anchor on carpet, the tom pads have a very soft rubber surface that is quite responsive likewise the snare that is more based on an acoustic drum replete with 8" drum skin ! although there is no sensitivity control per pad, you can still get quite a dynamic curve to your playing style. i use fairly heavy nylon tipped sticks that seem to get better response from the pads and brain. there is a good balance of samples that are of excellent quality and the added groove play alongs are good also. this kit is a must for recording, rehearsal & practise and can be used in a less full on live situation.......... great buy!!!
