A year ago I purchased a pair of KRK Rokit 6's (G3) these blew my old M-Audio monitors out the water, the clarity in the Highs and Lows aloud my mixing to develop and when listening through car stereos, CD plays and other reference devises the mix was much better. So a year on with this I have had some comments that the lows in my mixes do not have clarity and could do with cutting more low end to sort out the washiness. Well I have to admit I don't need much of an excuse to spend some more money on my home studio so figured a sensible step was to purchase a sub. After much debating I settled on the KRK10s, not too powerful for my room size and I liked the fact that with a foot switch you can bypass the sub altogether, got to be good when mixing late at night. Once it arrived I wasted no time in getting this connected and boy is it low. I don't necessarily believe that this is a must for any home studio but after a couple of weeks using this I don't think my setup will be without it for a long time. Granted I do use the foot switch so I can focus on the high end when need but most of the time it is on. I did have to set the sub and near-fields with the use of a SPL meter but this is adequately covered in the instructions and test tones are available from the KRK product page. Best purchase for my Home Studio in a long time

Wow! What a sound! I could never imagined the difference in the studio. Obviously, I know how much difference there will be if you have a subwoofer or not, but that it would be that good, I would not expect. I run it along with a pair of KRK VXT8 which is brilliant. Thought already that my monitors was sufficient, but when you hear the difference, you can not go back without a subwoofer.
A big PLUS+ that it can be connected to a switch so you quickly and easily can disconnect the bass when you want (I use a Boss FS-5L). It also have all the connections you need at the back, that you can read about in the specs.
There will however be a small minus-, it does not have the "auto shut off" as my monitors have. But at this price, you can not demand everything. The sound however, I just love it!
