Bought this stand to support my master keyboard for gigging and rehearsing - presently a fairly hefty Studiologic VMK176.

At home I use this stand very wide and low, and live it works equally well for me (a taller gentleman) in the standing position.

Now been rehearsing and gigging with this for a few years and the paintwork has survived completely intact, unlike other stands I have had before. Still looks brand new. In the off season this is hung in a garage yet there is no hint of rust.

The rubber feet and stops on the top have survived a couple of years too, no cracking or perishing which I have also found on other stands before. They resist the tendency to slip off which is handy - I still have all eight and have never had to hunt around in the back of the car for one that's lost.

Two features I really like about this stand - firstly there is a simple release knob to adjust the height - no mucking about with bolts or anything like on this type of stand in the olden days.

Second, and it's really obvious and simple, one of the rubber feet rotates to give height adjustment on one corner. So when the inevitable happens as a keyboard player, and the rest of the band decide you are going to be on the one part of the stage which is not level, you can simply adjust to accommodate, rather than having one foot off the floor and the stand rocking backwards and forwards on the two feet that are making good contact. Anything to save another band argument.

Downside: the stand does bend slightly in response to your playing. This is imperceptible except at a certain rate of thumping the keys, the stand begins to oscillate in sympathy and the whole keyboard can pick up quite a bit of movement. Gigging keyboard players of any experience will recognise this phenomenon which is difficult to explain here in writing. The good news is this stand suffers the problem far less than other x shaped stands I have used before.

On the whole, after a couple of years use, if this stand now broke, I'd be looking to get one exactly the same again and would be disappointed if I couldn't.
